    All good man. Trading 1 year of Happ for 2 of Saunders (or any other similar OF) was fine. Who knows maybe AA tried to sign another SP and struck out. We'll see what happens.

    Plus, I'm pretty sure the Donaldson trade took place before the Happ trade.

    Something has to be considered bad to become worse. Maybe he means, not as good. Just wanted to be clear. That's a trade you make 10 out of 10 times.

    I didn't say it was news, just that they could be dumber than we think. Their first choice was Williams, so for those praying AA gets fired ASAP, it could get worse although he has won a WS you know.

    If what you say in your 2nd paragraph is true, then Rogers is dumber than I thought. Why throw away a whole year when they could've made the changes in the off season? Surely, Williams (who was their first choice, don't forget that) and Duquette aren't the best possible choices out there.

    I don't want this F/O trading anymore assets for pitching. AA has used up enough assets to address the pitching, he just happened to screw up by going after guys like Dickey, Buhrle and JJ. When you consider what he gave up, plus the $ coming back, he cannot be trusted to properly value pitching. He's likely to overpay again. We'll see what happens.

    Well so much for Smoak's opportunity to play everyday-ish. So it's been 2 weeks since Bautista's been DH-ing, looks to me like they should've put him on the DL and he'd be close to returning by now. Looky what happened with Reyes, they finally put him on the DL and he's said to be recovering nicely.

    Apparently, some guy tweeted that Dickey's knuckler's average velocity was higher in 2012 than any knuckler he's thrown since. I find it hard to believe, but something to consider...or disregard.

    Agreed. Your other post about the Jays possibly ending up with someone worse than AA was bang on. I've said that they'll likely end up with a guy who's good at roster management, but bad at building up the farm system.

    Raise your hand if you're tired of reading "weak division and this team isn't taking advantage". Sounds to me like when the 2 dumbasses on SN say when an opponent is using a defensive shift against a Blue Jays hitter " go ahead, take a shot, big hole on the that side". You know sort of like implying that players can just decide where to hit the ball.

    It starts at the top. The Rays get brought up a lot around here and for good reason, but their change of fortunes started with Sternberg's arrival. It's mind-boggling that Rogers wouldn't want to run the Jays as efficiently as possible and make a shitload of money.
