  1. With his delivery, you actually expect him to hit lhh. As I said earlier, I expected them to throw high and in to Davis instead of another slider. Instead, they tried to pitch inside to Flaherty for some reason. I also thought, if you're gonna let Loup face Joseph, why not let him face Machado since the damage was done, but anyway.
  2. So they would've remained tied till the 25th inning or something? I'm saying they played a big part in the loss just like Loup. You can't win them all, move on.
  3. Maybe. The ball did hit high off the wall which would've required a tall OF and a well-timed jump. As I said though, Carrera would've had a better chance at throwing out the runner on the SF since Colabello didn't set up properly, which is understandable given that he's not an OF.
  4. When you fail to score with runners at 1st and 3rd (2nd inning) and with the bases loaded (8th inning) and no outs, yes that has a big effect on the game. With a lead, Gibbons may have used the BP differently.
  5. I think the Colabello problem came to play in the SF that scored the tying run rather than the 1st inning 2b by Machado. That ball hit high off the wall, I doubt Carrera gets it. The point does stand though.
  6. True. Although, many here are focusing on the BP when the offense was bad in this one. We'll see what happens.
  7. I thought they'd throw a high, inside heater to Davis, instead they threw another slider and this time Loup hung it. Then they try to come in on Flaherty for some reason. Those 2 sequences baffled me. Otherwise, the offense didn't have a good game.
  8. So many at-bats today where the Jays took hittable pitches and swung at balls
  9. And the bad positioning cost him valuable time in setting up the throw
  10. At least it helped Buehrle last inning against Machado
  11. As bad as Colabello's defence is, I doubt Carrera would've made that catch.
  12. Most of these are minor in comparison with losing their best SP which is what you mentioned. And most of these moves have been corrected. As it stands the team has young guys like Boyd and Norris as SP depth at Buffalo. The biggest issue is at the front of the rotation. We'll see what happens.
  13. Remind me who was available after Stroman went down?
  14. Something could be worked out. The guy could get pictures with A-Rod and the ball as well as publicity for giving it back to him. Who knows, but I think they'll work something out. No need to hate on the guy.
  15. It's counter-intuitive for so many that a pitcher topping out at 90MPH would generate whiffs. All they have to do is look at Estrada and how his changeup makes his fastball seem faster than it is though he does give up dingers. Anyway...
  16. F/O did a good job of replacing the departing players, either via FA or trade, with cheaper alternatives like Smoak, Estrada, Saunders. Even in terms of depth with guys like Carrera, Barton, Colabello. And even though we'd all prefer Pillar as a 4th OF, he has outperformed Anthony Gose so far which is pretty big when you traded Gose for Travis.
  17. Cabrera, Lind, Happ, out. Saunders, Smoak, Estrada + $aving$ in. Seems fine to me.
