  1. Norris: 3-IP, 3-H, 1-ER, 0-BB, 6-K (4 swinging + 2 called). Brentz: 3-IP, 1-H, 0-ER, 0-BB, 2-K.
  2. Broken sprinkler pieces lying around the field.
  3. They definitely need a better rotation, but I have my reservations on letting AA trade more assets for an elite SP. IMO, what he has traded away should've been enough to fetch a frontline SP, he just got the wrong guys in JJ, Buehrle and Dickey.
  4. Right and several of us were optimistic about the team even when they were 5+ games under .500 based on their RD. As it turns out, their record has been moving in the direction their RD says it should be. Should they try to improve? Absolutely, but it's a good team.
  5. Good stuff from Pillar this year, easy to root for him.
  6. Swim back to the old board?
  7. Todd Redmond is only up with the team because yesterday's SP, Scott Copeland, is trash and got lit up yesterday forcing the team to use a bunch of relievers. He also only pitched in this game because today's SP, Drew Hutchison, threw 110 pitches over 5 innings.
  8. I agree. However, I was just pointing out that he wasn't necessarily "hit hard".
  9. According to the game log, at least 3 of the hits were soft IF grounders
  10. My big issue with Gibbons today was not having Goins bunt, it just shows that he doesn't realize that Goins is a terrible hitter. To top it off, Reyes bunted later on. Oh well...
  11. Yeah, that Chris Tillman fellow is awesome. Or having Nolan Reimold play CF is also great. Not so sure it's the slam dunk you think it is.
  12. Is Boyd on the 40-man roster? I guess it doesn't matter since I think they have an open spot. Could really use Guilmet and West at this point...
  13. That could work, he would be in the bp till Sanchez's next start comes up. Like Abominable suggested earlier, maybe use the young guys at AAA (Norris, Boyd and Castro) to bolster the pen. Good thing about all 3 is that they've been starting at Buffalo so they could pitch multiple innings or start games, except Castro, of course who's been injured.
  14. It's as if the 2nd inning didn't happen (although Gibbons probably stuck with Copeland too long).
  15. Coke was the 3rd lefty in the pen, Tepera was the last man out of the pen and Copeland their 7th or 8th SP filling in. SP is the bigger issue.
  16. Hendriks and Osuna are new and reliable...so playoffs guaranteed?
  17. Yeah, that's one of my beefs with Gibby. I know many hate bunting, including this dumbass, but things change with Goins at the plate. You expect him to either GIDP or a hit a long flyball to the IF. I also thought it was too much to ask of him to fake a bunt and then try to hit the ball hard somewhere. Maybe it was a missed sign, but I think Rivera went to talk to him. Anyway...
  18. Isn't the Jays' BP top half in ERA, FIP, and xFIP? I think 3rd in xFIP, I think 5th in FIP and 6th in ERA in the AL. I'm often wrong though so...
  19. Reyes didn't seem to see the ball at all. I think Goins had something similar happen to him earlier in the game. 2 walks by Cecil were really bad as i think he was ahead of both Davis and Reimold. Anyway...
  20. All teams in the east are flawed which is why 3 games separate 1st from 4th. The O's rotation ain't that good and they had Nolan Reimold playing CF yesterday. We'll see how the Jays do at TB where they got swept the last time they visited. Then they come back to RC for 3 vs the Rangers and 4 vs the Red Sox.
  21. 3-2 homestand. Still 18-16 vs East with a +28 RD. Also, trending in the right direction. On the other hand, in 4th place.
