  1. I know you were and wasn't necessarily disagreeing with you, just with the package.
  2. 5K through 3 now.
  3. 4K's, all swingin'. Take him out of game and promote him to NH, or let him strike out 18?
  4. Also money saved from Izturis, Romero and Navarro which would be around 15M. Also, by going after FA SP, you'd rely much less on the young guys and have more depth. However, it's not a guarantee that A. SP would even consider signing with Jays or B. the Jays would offer the terms and dollars required to make FA SP take them seriously. It's not an easy situation, but that's where the team is at.
  5. Or like d'Arnaud, Syndergaard, Alvarez, Descaflani, Marisnick etc etc.
  6. Anymore? It's the same division it was at the start of the year. None of the teams has made any major acquisitions. Maybe teams were just underrated. With the exception of the Red Sox who many thought were amazing and super deep and so forth.
  7. 2 games that sum up the 2015 Jays: .500 despite scoring twice as many runs as opponent.
  8. I see what you are saying and when you add AA's inability to play the FA SP market, it points to this being a prime target. On the other hand, we have to consider what the cost will be in terms of prospects, especially upper minors ones and given what AA gave up in the Marlins and Dickey trades, it seems like he'll gave up a ton.
  9. New prez to be hired in Philly could mean Amaro Jr. is not allowed to make major decisions till new guy is in place. Regardless, I say target under the radar guys and stay the course. Most of the offense will be intact for next year as well and team should have some $ to spend. Keep the young guys as complementary and depth pieces. How does this look: 1. Stroman/FA SP. 2. F/A SP/Stroman. 3. Hutchison/FA SP. 4. Norris. 5. Sanchez/Boyd/Estrada/Osuna.
  10. He was. Although, he had 1 year of control left and would've been expensive to re-sign had he pitched as expected. You also have to remember that they expected Dickey to pitch as that guy as well, they certainly gave up a package worthy of a top of the rotation SP to get him.
  11. Which is what I said. Although, they do have one, but he be injured.
  12. He was fine and should be fine as a # 4/5. Bigger issue on this team is the lack of a top of the rotation starter.
  13. This team is finally getting to the point where it has some youth at the MLB level and at AA/AAA and it happens to coincide with them needing a top of the rotation starter which means they'd have to give up some of the youth at the MLB level and/or some of the upper minors prospects. It goes back to misfiring in the Marlins and Dickey trades since despite all the young talent they gave up, they didn't get a top starting pitcher. I say go for the under-the-radar guys.
  14. Left a few fastballs up that happened to get hit. DaMN right I hope they give him more starts
  15. Yeah and that's doubtful which is why I fear another overpay. We'll see what happens
  16. Can't win them all. Win the series tomorrow.
  17. Redmond moving ahead of Hendriks in Gibby's eyes. Let's hope it works.
