    For the record, I like Gose. It's just that he's a 4th OF. Getting an everyday guy like Travis to plug that gaping hole at 2B is simply great. Nevertheless, the love affair with Goins continues as he's in today's lineup over Travis. Oh well, just a day off.

    Man this trade looks really good: Travis: 1.4 fWAR. Gose: .3. And the Jays picked up Carrera from the Tigers as well as OF depth and he has put up .5, in a limited role of course.

    You mentioned 2 weeks. They may have no reason to give us that information, but they have at least one reason to not handcuff their roster when a DL stint would be a bit over 2 weeks. Gibbons has openly said he thinks Navarro is the team's best pure hitter and he apparently played Goins today based on 20 AB's against Buchholz. It just seems unlikely that the reason Smoak hasn't gotten much playing time lately is because he's injured.
