  1. So he got Spankied!
  2. AA has been looking to acquire a starter or 2, plus a 2B since last off season and hasn't been successful, I see no reason to believe he'll be successful now.
  3. Basically, those who thought the team would run away with the division are getting a dose of reality...they just haven't figured out how to deal with it.
  4. Also, noticed that Cabrera's BA is now under .297 although not surprise since it's been heading downward for a while now. It's partly the lack of plate discipline, he's good at making contact, but you're going to suffer for swinging at balls so often.
  5. Tough loss, but they certainly earned it with the errors they made, including the 3B coach.
  6. No surprise on Sanchez, struggles continue.
  7. Good thing they're not at the same time. Once the soccer game starts, I'll flip back and forth.
  8. Good thing you asked, I double-checked and it was Dan Lietz....#BrainFart!
  9. Yeah, big and strong. I guess he was missing the soft hands.
  10. Was that a legit Latz tweet earlier? If so, they may be close on a deal. Wait and see I guess.
  11. This made me LOL. Love the honesty bro, so many around here never admit they know f*** all.
  12. The fact that Kalfus wasn't sent to at least Dunedin to start 2014 is a fireable offence by AA.
  13. And by the way, the Big f***ing 'Owe also ruined Vlad's knees, you can be sure of this.
  14. I remember going to around 130 games at the Big 'Owe in '98 and '99 mainly to watch him and what a show he put on! It does make me feel old though.
  15. How about this one: I love the reaction by the colour commentator on the play.
  16. 2nd WC has obviously added competitiveness to the sport. The team furthest from a WC spot in the AL is the Rays who are 10 GB. I actually expect them to creep back closer to .500. The Astros may fade a bit, but they're not gonna lose 100 games this year. Everyone else in the AL is within 4.5 games (Red Sox). In the NL, there are 5 that I believe are out of it, but everyone else is within 3 games battling fo4 2 playoff spots.
  17. I wouldn't be too upset with either Mastro or Pillar against LHP though, we'll have to wait and see how they deal handle this on Monday or Tuesday.
  18. Mastroianni being sent down may signal that Gose could be staying after Rasmus is reactivated from the 30-day DL. I guess they'll send down Jenkins or DL Cecil to make room for Rasmus, but we'll see.
  19. Everyone knows he's walking too many and striking out too few, but thanks for pointing out the obvious.
  20. Mastroianni sent down.
  21. He did say the following: Concerns about the walks are legit, but there are other stats that are positive like his hits per 9 and groundball rate. The guy tried to point these out above, but at the end of the day, it's a matter of opinion. There's obviously some who like/dislike eachother on this board, but some here will never admit to being wrong. Despite picking the team to contend last year, they called it a s***** team and did so up to April of this year. There's no accountability, but I know it's the nature of a message board. Anyway....
  22. McGowan can't pitch everyday though so then your choices are Delabar or Santos. I do doubt Santos is fully healthy though so I expect him to go down again soon.
  23. Why are you helping your buddy King? And where did saskjayfan claim he had ever seen him pitch and/or that he wasn't concerned about the walks? Also, where did he claim his expert opinion mattered "far more than any of ours"? Anyway, who cares, if he pans out, those who claim he won't will just say "oh, but there were legitimate reasons to doubt he would". And if he doesn't, they'll just call AA an idiot for not trading him in some imaginary trade.
  24. Everyone is concerned about the walks, but by many reports, he also doesn't get hit hard and induces tons of groundballs, nothing wrong with pointing it out as well as his lack of command. Like The Hurl said after he watched him pitch on tv, it could be a release point problem. From what I've read, several prospect followers say the movement on his fastball makes it more difficult for him to command it. We'll see what happens.
