  1. I won't look it up 'cause I don't wanna get frustrated by the answer since they're 3-7 against the Twins and White Sox and 3-6 vs the Yanks....
  2. Forgot to say that part of the reason I think it won't be the Jays in 1st is because I suspect Bautista will re-injure the hamstring the same way Reyes and Rasmus did earlier in the season. Hopefully, he only needs the 2 weeks Reyes needed instead of the month Rasmus missed.
  3. It'll be the O's, I hope I'm wrong (again) though. I'm quite a bit concerned with the way the team has been playing for a while. Whether it's bad defense, base running, hitting or pitching, they've been finding ways to shoot themselves in the foot, kind of last year's team right after the 11-gamer. We'll see what happens...
  4. Yup, that's how I interpreted this as well. I do hope he learned something from the Dickey trade where he seemed too willing to meet the Mets' asking price and didn't seem to use the impass in contract talks between the Mets and RAD against them, among other things.
  5. They weren't close at all, some guys just look for anything they can find to hammer AA. Anyway...
  6. Also had a HBP and a balk. Not great, but not as bad as his previous starts. Only 2 K, but tons of GO.
  7. 5IP, 2H, 0ER, 0BB, 1K, 11GO/1FO, 45 pitches thrown.
  8. Should've traded him for Norris, lol. Seriously though, the GO/FO ratio is something that gives me hope. I want him, Norris and Nolin to be MLB depth next year at AAA.
  9. Yeah, you've gotta look at every bit of progress with him. The fact that he went 4 innings is a good sign that he had decent command in this outing. He's a long term project, if I'm not mistaken, he was converted to a full-time pitcher not too long ago so patience is key with him.
  10. To be honest, I really have no problem with them asking for the moon, had they asked for less, they may have ended up with less. I also have no problem with AA asking them what kind of package it would take, even if it involved Stroman. It doesn't really mean a trade was near. From what I get, AA kindly told him to f*** off and discussions ended soon thereafter.
  11. I guess what you're saying is that Bautista pinch hitting for one of the other scrubs provides a larger upgrade than him pinch hitting for Navarro who the manager thought was good enough to bat #4 in his lineup.
  12. Nothing there indicates to me that Stroman was about to be dealt. All I get from this is AA, and other GMs for that matter, asking what type of package the Astros were looking for. They all probably ended up having a conference call to laugh about the asking price. At the end of the day, I can't remember what the Astros got for Norris from the O's, but I'd bet it wasn't a better prospect than Stroman so this tells you Stroman wasn't seriously considered.
  13. Funnily enough, I remember several on this board joking about how AA couldn't trade any relievers in the off season because he was probably overvaluing them and was asking for top prospects in return.
  14. Gotta keep things in perspective. When referring to players as "untouchable", we have to remember who the trade discussions are about (Norris).
  15. "They" being the Astros of course. Nothing came of it and I see nothing wrong with finding out what the prices are for pitchers like Norris.
  16. I have absolutely no problem with them discussing what it would take to get Norris. Clearly, the Astros were asking for too much from all teams, including Boagaerts from the Red Sox.
  17. Did they actually end up getting a better package than that? Or was it just trade discussions. The O's were thought to be unwilling to trade Gausman, but open to trading Bundy.
  18. I'm not upset that they wouldn't trade Sanchez as the centre piece of a package to get Norris, but it is what it is, others see things differently.
  19. A man gotta eat.
  20. Problem is Gibbons hasn't figured this out for some weird reason. It's happened so often that I really think Gibbons defers to RAD. Hopefully, it's just me being wrong again, but I'm afraid there's something to this.
  21. Play offs? What play offs? This team can't even split a 4-game series with the White Sox and you're worried about the play offs!!!
  22. We already have a precedent of AA trading with Alderson for a player having a career year....NO THANKS!!!
  23. I don't think I said slump anywhere, but I've been wrong before! If the injury is legit, then there's no reason to give up anything, maybe Jenkins. He's still playing good defense though, so if you can't find a better option, I'd rather have him than Francisco at 3B. Again, has to come at a big discount, especially in terms of prospects. Just saving them 5M seems like a good deal.
