  1. Not to mention John Manuel is now a scout for the Twins. Pretty sure he doesn't publicly write about prospects anymore. LOL. He also called Bob Nightengale 'Dave Nightingale' and Jon Heyman 'John Heyman'.
  2. I did respond to the debate. The poster you so proudly defended has been nothing but completely disingenuous with the majority of his posts ITT. In a nutshell, he has claimed that the Blue Jays have less coming up the pipe than what we all think, as well as nothing on the current team. It's wrong to exclude a player like Vlad from this exercise because a) he's still below rookie thresholds and he comes from that farm that mikepelfrey is knocking. Vlad either counts on the big league club or he counts as a prospect. Same with Biggio, Jansen, and Bichette. To add to my last post, SRF and a few others may have taken a step backward (or at least didn't develop forward), but other players like Alejandro Kirk, Jordan Groshans, Riley Adams, Gabriel Moreno, Otto Lopez, Brock Lundquist, Joey Murray, Josh Winckowski, etc. have taken steps forward, ranging from small to massive. Even after removing Vlad from the group, the Jays' farm is easily top 10. Eyeballing it, they're probably somewhere in the 5-8 range, currently - not 18th like your boy mikepelfrey said.
  3. So, let me get this straight - we're now discounting the value of Guerrero, Biggio, and Jansen because they've been promoted to the Jays? And we're preemptively doing the same thing for Bichette? LMFAO! Yes, damn this organization for having such an impact group of close-proximity prospects to promote to the big club. The whole point of having a good farm is to hopefully develop impact major league players out of those prospects and all of those guys have shown immensely significant potential. Even with those promotions, the farm is still incredibly deep. f*** me - some of you guys are completely incapable of objective thought. This board is in the darkest of dark ages.
  4. http://baseball-farm.com/index.php/2019/05/31/2019-mlb-draft-final-mock-w-explanations-comps-and-alternative-picks/ [h=3]11. Toronto Blue Jays [/h] http://baseball-farm.com/wp-content/plugins/StatsGen/TOR.png [h=3]Corbin Carroll, OF[/h] Bio: School: Lakeside HS (WA) Height: 5-10 Weight: 165 lbs Hits/Throws: L/L A lot of recent mocks have Carroll sliding into the mid to late first round and I just don’t buy it. Carroll plays about 10 minutes from my apartment in Seattle and i’ve been lucky enough to see many of his games as well as his insane summer at the bigger events. Carroll always performs and there are always scouts present. In particular, I’ve seen Blue Jays scouts at every single Carroll game i’ve been to this year. While Stott, Thompson and Rutledge appear to be options here; I think the Blue Jays brass are in love with Carroll and he will be the pick unless his asking price is astronomical. Carroll has a 60 bat, 50 power, 70 speed and plays solid CF. He also has been probably the best bat against high end prep arms in the class, has plus makeup and nearly won the damn HR derby.
  5. My original post was a joke.
  6. That's a neat, little narrative, Mike, but I prefer to use actual FACTS. Big'ns, too. Roberto Osuna: 48 IP, 8.25 K/9, 1.13 BB/9, .218 BABIP, 38.6 GB%, 2.96 FIP, 3.78 xFIP, 15.4 SwStr% Ken Giles: 41 1/3 IP, 12.19 K9, 1.96 BB/9, .302 BABIP, 48.0 GB%, 2.74 FIP, 2.80 xFIP, 17.8 SwStr% The stat lines are post-trade. Honestly, Osuna has been really good, but Giles has been elite. To deny him of that fact and to ignore the rest of his dominant career because he once punched himself in the face a few times on camera or imploded in a small sample in the playoffs is absurd.

  8. Ken Giles is not getting the respek he deserves ITT. He's been as valuable as Josh Hader so far this season - tied for 2nd most WAR among RP league-wide. Just, uh, ya know, sayin'.

  21. How has Sanchez not calloused the f*** out of his hands at this point? He must use some pretty intense industrial-strength hand lotion between starts to keep his hands so soft, dainty, and susceptible to blisters. Edit: Nevermind. I just read through the entire thread and like everyone else, I had initially assumed he left with blisters again. Carry on.
  22. The Blue Jays may not be enjoying many PR wins these days, but the Burrito Boyz certainly are.
  23. You've never seen the term before? It's used for players that mash AAA but can't hack at it the MLB level for whatever reasons. See: Brandon Wood, A.J. Reed, and Travis Snider.
