  1. I didn't think he was trolling. I assumed he was an old-school guy, based on previous posts. Meh...maybe I'm wrong.
  2. Lol! It's all-encompassing. It actually means everything. It's not perfect, but it's the best stat available to us to measure a player's contributions in all facets of the game. It's not the be-all/end-all, but, like any stat, it should be used with other stats to best gauge a player's value and output.
  3. Pearce is an adequate defender in the OF, which could put Valbuena at 1B (with Smoak rightfully riding the pine).
  4. Lol thanks for the alley-oop.
  5. For every Ortiz or A-Rod, there's 30 players that decline, relative to their age, as predictably expected. Players like Ortiz are the rare exception, far from the rule or likely outcome. To boot, Bautista is coming off a significant injury that, when coupled with his age, more than likely kick-starts his decline immediately. The odds are absolutely stacked against him. He could still be productive for another season or two, but probably not at the levels we've seen in the past. Taking the comp pick and signing a replacement like Valbuena makes so much more sense.
  6. Virtually every time, with very few exceptions.
  7. I'd like this quite a bit as a depth signing. Only 27 years old. His 2014 season was pretty decent, and hasn't had much opportunity since due to injuries and such.
  8. While that narrative is a possible explanation for why 2016 was by far his worst defensive season, with the exception of 2015 (still was a negative defender, mind you), he's always been pretty pitiful.
  9. Exactly. Someone will pay their price. Then they have that Austin Meadows fellow that they'd like to unleash on the league.
  10. J.D. Martinez is an appalling defender. That is all.
  11. Based solely on rumours, one of Granderson, Bruce (ugh) and Conforto, Blackmon, Dyson (like you mentioned), and McCutchen are the guys that come to mind. Blackmon and Cutch would be far too expensive, and Bruce is Bruce. That leaves Grandy, Conforto and Dyson as reasonable fits, but I'm not sure what they'd cost to acquire. Ozuna would be a nice target.
  12. Adames is a stud. <----owns Adames in BBDL
  13. Eovaldi is out for all of 2017 and Ross is most likely ineffective going forward, thanks to TOS.
  14. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/2016-arizona-fall-league-top-20-prospects/#OCe2ZxXLRO6G4jhh.97 10. Anthony Alford, of, Mesa (Blue Jays) If ranking the AFL position players just on tools alone, Alford would most definitely be at or near the top. With a collection of four plus tools—speed, power, range and arm—and supreme athleticism as well as sound hitting instincts, Alford just needs more development time to refine his approach at the plate. The former college football player missed part of the 2016 regular season to a pair of injuries and was making up for the lost time in the AFL. The 22-year old outfielder put up impressive numbers (.253/.349/.440, three homers, eight stolen bases) before going down with an injury late in the season.
  15. Congrats, Gov!

  17. Thanks so much for putting this together, King. You did a bang-up job with it. And a thank you to everyone that contributed - this was a lot of fun.
  18. The only question is the order. I have a hunch it will be Vladdy at 1 and Alford at 106.
  19. Come on, King. Tellez who's next.
  20. No, but Morales can...sort of.
  21. Are you only looking at stats? He has two plus pitches already (fastball and changeup), and a third, his curveball, flashes plus. He's still very much a project at this point, but his stuff is legit. Command of those pitches, if it comes, will generate the sexy results and shoot him to the top of prospect lists.
  22. I like Tellez, bro. I'm well aware of the stats - trust me. I don't think he should be anyone's number one, but I won't knock someone if they put him there; I'm all for list disparity. That's why we're crowd-sourcing the list. I'm actually really excited to see the results.
