  1. Might KingKat actually have the worst team in league history this year?
  2. That has to be devastating for him. Sitting on a tidy 2.82 ERA and probably feeling good about his season, then 15 minutes later his season ERA is 4.18.
  3. lol @ 8 E for Johnson. How many fantasy ERA cats were lost tonight?
  4. No idea. Howell was up and ready and Mattingly just left Johnosn out to dry vs. Walker and Polanco. Baez hasn't even been warming for some reason, and he should have faced Cutch.
  5. Jim Johnson suucks
  6. Ethier's wRC+ up to 135. Nobody needs a CF bat and has a SP to spare?
  7. No. $16+M for Estrada would be completely ridiculous. He'll probably sign for less than that on 2-year deal.
  8. Johnny Giavotella might be the worst player to get 600 PA this year.
  9. You probably shouldn't have backed out of that trade!
  10. Walking 5.53/9 and FGDC projects a 4.12 ERA. He's probably not long for a closer's role.
  11. Maybe in terms of fielding, but shutting down the running game is a huge part of pitcher defense, and he's probably below average at that.
  12. Anyone else watch a lot of Angels games? Johny Giavotella is a terrible, terrible baseball player. Guy gives away out after out at 2B. And he can't even hit either.
  13. This is incoherent.
  14. Is the discussion about what has made Buehrle and Dickey more effective than Hutchison despite Hutch not having worse DIPS? Because the answer to that is that it's a combination of a lot of things. Buehrle is an elite defender (which isn't just fielding balls - he's almost impossible to steal on). Dickey is an elite defender, and throws a knuckleball which tends to help pitchers outperform their DIPS. These skills have allowed them to give up fewer runs, which allows them to go deeper into games. Throw in poor luck for Hutch, and defense that as far as we know is average at best, and it's not a mystery why he's thrown fewer innings.
  15. Oh wow, that's gross.
  16. He was referring to the fact that they're two of the best defensive pitchers in the game, and this enables them to prevent runs more effectively than their DIPS suggests that they should. This helps them pitch deeper into games.
  17. Hector Santiago is an ace. Discuss.
  18. Samardzija has been pretty bad this year. Didn't see that coming.
  19. I know absolutely nothing about pitching mechanics, but I thought I heard multiple people say his were pretty much perfect. Not the case?
  20. So working-class schlubs are going to finance a guy's $200M+ contract so that one of the biggest corporations in the country can make even bigger profits? Great idea.
  21. I was only half paying attention, but didn't Gibby go on the field to yell at the ump about balls and strikes?
  22. Well, no. The South is clearly more ignorant.
  23. Goddammit, I'd expect the USA chants from Texas or Florida, but New York? Come on.
  24. Goddammit Hurl
