  1. He seems like the kind of guy would be pist.
  2. Lackey, Anderson, Hill, Colon, and Happ are all interesting to some degree and likely to come on reasonable 1-2 year deals. Maybe Samardzija too?
  3. A $200M anyone is scary. There are a few players worth the risk, but that's just a huge commitment that could break a wrist/femur or something and never be the same. There are like 5 guys I'd tie that kind of money up in.
  4. I hear you, but any decisions have to be made with an eye to 2017 as well. A team that costs 150 this year will cost 170+ in 2017 and beyond. If there is room to go higher, I hope it's spent on very short contracts. We've seen so many teams fall into the trap of falling short in the playoffs and then adding expensive free agents every year to try and put themselves over the top. Names like Price, Zimmermann, and a $200M Heyward are scary. I hope AA picks his spots well if he does go to the market. His one big splash to date was perfect, with low risk and a ton of upside.
  5. I'm not convinced that payroll will be effected by the run. Their people would have known beforehand what kind of income the playoffs would generate, and they still couldn't afford Valencia or Revere for two months. I'll be surprised if payroll is much higher than 130M.
  6. Will likely be AL East favourites. A bit scary with the team's 5 best players into their 30s, but they should be good.
  7. Probably Kenta Maeda
  8. Why?
  9. Brett Cecil is one of the more interesting cases on the team IMO. Projected at ~3.5M, and a free agent after that. I wonder if they try to lock up a couple of free agent years? Something like: 2016 = 3.5 2017 = 5 2018 = 5 2019 = 5 team option with 1 buyout. Who says no?
  10. Nice.
  11. A bit of both? He's probably an above average hitter, but not the monster his 0.400+ BABIP made him appear to be. IMO there's not really room for him and Smoak, and both are very undesirable everyday 1B options.
  12. Grant vs. GD. This is promising.
  13. Yeah, Smoak isn't good. Would have to be a trade in that case though, because outside of Davis there is nothing even moderately interesting on the 1B front.
  14. The free agent market is absolutely loaded. We could see 10+ 100M contracts. It's going to be a crazy offseason around baseball.
  15. Will probably be rooting for KC, but I expect the Mets to win.
  16. It's been ready in an excel sheet since they were 0-2 to Texas.
  17. Saunders and Thole non-tendered?
  18. They don't need much. Maybe one reliever, a backup catcher if Thole is let go, and two starters. And they probably have like $20M to get it with.
  19. I can't believe he brought Madson in. I didn't even consider the possibility that he wouldn't just use Davis for 2 innings.

  21. All that's missing is stoning gays to death, which I'm sure they'd happily do if they could.
  22. There isn't actually a difference. People call religions they don't subscribe to cults.
  23. For some reason I thought Bruce had a very good season, then I look and see he had a 91 wRC+.
  24. I'm not sure I've ever seen Moogy give an opinion on a player or team. A lot easier to stand on the sidelines and make fun of everyone else.
