    Goins could be useful as a guy you send back and forth to AAA depending on the health of Travis. Carrying him and Barney while Tulo and Travis are healthy would be silly, but having both in the org would be good for depth.

    They've now given hundreds of PA to Stephen Drew and traded a useful pitcher for Starlin Castro just to avoid playing a young, cheap, league average hitting player in the position. The only way this makes any sense at all is if he's clearly a butcher. Like a Chris Colabello of second base.

    Dave Stewart has made some truly awful decisions so far. - $68.5M for Tomas - $206M for Greinke - paying like 2-3x reasonable value for Miller - using Toussaint to save $10M on Arroyo's salary in a lost season Arizona is going to be bad for a long time beginning 2-3 years from now.

    So many recent Oakland moves have looked/been awful, but I can't count how many times I've written them off and seen them win a lot of games. I'll be shocked if they're headed towards 4-5 years of losing. I'd only be mildly surprised if they won 88 games this year and made the WC game.
