  1. Ok, in that case I'm sure the fat 29-year old who has thrown 350 innings in 3 years and just had labrum surgery is about to become a reliable rotation fixture.
  2. Friend of mine just had surgery for a torn labrum. Three months later and he still doesn't have close to full range of motion, and his doctor recommended that he doesn't play softball this summer.
  3. He had a torn labrum. That's very, very bad.
  4. Every time a clearly overweight player breaks down I wonder if they would have had the same issues if they were in shape. Ryu was probably carrying close to 50 extra pounds at his heaviest. I have no idea if that would be associated with shoulder troubles, but it can't be good.
  5. Shoulder surgery is terrifying, and they're already talking about maybe not having him for opening day.
  6. http://m.dodgers.mlb.com/news/article/164400882/frankie-montas-to-miss-2-4-months-with-injury Frankie Montas out 2-4 months with rib surgery.
  7. Not really. Waiver priority has nothing to do with the draft.
  8. Why? We're already doing that for the next MiLB draft. Waiver priority can be random.
  9. I knew you wouldn't respond if I trolled Dinger in the LOD thread and I was hoping to hook both of you.
  10. I hope you enjoy your LOD Austin Jackson more than I enjoy mine brah
  11. Dan: Can you briefly elaborate on your concerns re: Buxton? I know soft and spinning got him a lot last year but his upper minors exposure was so limited, he definitely still needs reps. But Paul said on the pod he thinks he’s Billy Hamilton which seems extreme to say the least, considering Buxton’s bat speed for one is light years better. 12:39 Eno Sarris: I’m concerned about that strikeout rate, especially since he’s stuck out more in the higher minors and it’s supported by a bad MLB swSTR%. I’m not sure that Hamilton is the right comp. I’m worried he’s a healthy Maybin (when healthy). Could be Austin Jackson too. I’m not picking based on race, more plate discipline. Lorenzo Cain is the very best scenario. Dammit. Anthony Gose? Jesus. How about: Odubel Herrera with great defense?
  12. The four of us can't even begin to consider wining the MC for the foreseeable future.
  13. We both know that this isn't going to happen.
  14. I'd probably give a slight edge to Liriano in a re-draft, but he feels a lot riskier than Quintana.
  15. Last three years: Quintana = 519 Ks, 3.41 K/BB Liriano = 543 Ks, 2.54 K/BB
  16. 2K innings on the arm, arm troubles starting to creep up, and his fastball was hit harder than ever last year. I hope he's still dominant, because I love watching him, but there are some serious red flags now.
  17. Felix looks like a guy about to break down. Sale is far better at this point IMO.
  18. Dinger will certainly be trading 2-3 of his best prospects for an SP2 this year.
  19. North's team is the one team in that tier that I could see missing the playoffs. Guys like Beltre, Hanley, Kemp, and Lowrie are all pretty high-risk, and Porcello, Hellickson, Cain, Anderson and Duffey is a lot of mediocrity in the rotation. Also, North is probably the most astute roster manager in the league, and he won't be running things this year.
  20. Tiers after ~10 minutes of perusing rosters: Elite Silvergun Elite, but not silvergun elite Dinger near-locks for the playoffs njh TRM jaysblue North will contend for last two spots Hurl Speedy BTS FTD havok torontofan will almost certainly miss playoffs jays_fever catsass spanky boxy Sammy z3r0s Gibbers King-Kat King-Kat
