  1. If Baltimore scores on Stroman here Gibbons should be relieved of his job.
  2. So what are we looking at? 6 - Givens 7 - Brach 8 - Britton 9 - Britton Probably?
  3. Not really. He shouldn't have even been out there to start the inning.
  4. Showalter not turning this into a bullpen game with a lead after 4 is going to cost him his season.
  5. Jesus Christ the defense has been on point.
  6. So Showalter probably tries to get one more inning from Tillman before turning it over to the pen?
  7. How soon does Showalter go to the bullpen?
  8. Very possibly a BORED title.
  9. Confirmed. Farewell, guy who saved my season after Moustakas went down.
  10. No bites on Prado, so I'll see if there's any interest in Bruce Rondon. Probably the early favourite to close in Detroit this year. He was setting up by the end of the year, and had an 11.15 K/9, 3.75 K/BB, and 15.8% swinging strike %. Looking for picks.
  11. I don't think they're actually thinking like this at all. I think it's literally just "Trout was the best player, but he can't win so I'll put him second". I think we'll see this when almost nobody puts him 3rd behind Donaldson and Betts, even though there's no valid defense for putting one of Betts/Donaldson ahead of him and not the other. Any heuristic like what you suggest would result in Trout going either 1st or 3rd. Never 2nd.
  12. Dave Cameron (of all people) actually makes a very good point about the logical inconsistency of voters who don't put Trout 1st on their ballot. The only argument for Betts (who probably wins) over Trout is that Trout's wins don't matter. But in that case, it doesn't makes sense to give Trout a 2nd place vote, because Donaldson, Altuve, Machado, Lindor, Beltre etc... all contributed wins that 'matter more than Trout's'. Either Trout's wins have value, and you vote him #1, or they don't, and you leave him off your ballot. Anything else means you're not thinking very deeply about what you're doing.
  13. His job must be so emasculating. Awkward little Barry Davis getting treated like garbage by athletes, and there's nothing he can do about it because a) he's a beta, and he needs to stay in their good books to get interviews.
  14. You could still go with a 2B-Villar, SS-Diaz, 3B-Prado configuration, and not bet on Sandoval or a 36-year old Phillips continuing to start.
  15. Moustakas is coming back next year, so I'm looking to move Martin Prado. Slashed 305/359/417 with 145 R+RBI. Not sexy, but he ranked 230th in value this year. Would like picks (waiver or MiLB).
  16. I think they probably see more value in knocking Toronto out now than they do in resting vets. They have 3 days after the season before the ALDS, and Toronto looks like the strongest of Baltimore, Detroit, and Seattle (even though they're not playing like it now, they have the talent).
  17. Biggest game of JA Happ's career tomorrow. Zimmermann vs. maybe the worst starter in baseball tomorrow in Aaron Blair.
  18. Billy Koch was a badass.
