2B is so weak in terms of fantasy value outside of the top 2, assuming Calhoun isn't actually a 2B.

Unless they didn't realize that someone like Carter would be available for less than what Justin Smoak makes. And really, it just doesn't make sense to roster Smoak when a clear 1-win upgrade is probably available for 4M or so. It's not ideal, but: LF - Pearce 1B - Carter Bench - Carrera/Upton Looks a lot better to me than 1B - Pearce LF - Carrera/Upton Bench - Smoak, Carrera/Upton

Is there even 5M for him in Japan? I can't believe he can't get close to that in MLB. He's a 110 wRC+ hitter who can play everyday and isn't a tire fire defensively. That has value to at least half a dozen teams right now.

On the other hand, Carter is a career 112 wRC+ hitter projected at 106, and Smoak is a career 95 wRC+ hitter projected at 93, and the upgrade is probably $4M, not 8M.

IIRC min was a new poster who nobody really knew before he joined DDL. He lost week 1 really bad, and was getting blown out early in week 2, so North petitioned to have him removed to protect the integrity of the league.

Poor min has had a rough go of things. North tried to have him kicked out of the DDL for incompetence after two weeks, and Greenwood blames him for Randy's dismissal from the LoD and has been picking on him ever since

That would be the best configuration, but the only desirable OF left on the market is Angel Pagan. It's looking more and more like Smoak is going to get a lot of playing time.
