  1. There's a decent chance that Smith becomes the second-best arm in the pen this year. He should see lots of high-leverage innings. I really like this signing.
  2. Osuna Grilli Biagini Smith Howell (L) Loup (L) Sparkman/Bolsinger/Floyd That's a deep bullpen.
  3. f*** yes.
  4. As things stand right now: C - Wilson Ramos 1B - Jose Abreu 2B - Cesar Hernandez 3B - Luis Valbuena SS - Tim Anderson CF - Adam Eaton CF - Keon Broxton OF - Kole Calhoun OF - Mark Trumbo CF - Tyler Naquin SP - Carlos Rodon SP - Jake Odorizzi SP - Ian Kennedy SP - Jharel Cotton SP - Scott Kazmir SP - Wei-Yin Chen RP - Cam Bedrosian RP - Pedro Baez RP - Mychal Givens RP - Felipe Rivero Cuts Howie Kendrick Rajai Davis Hyun-Soo Kim Adam Frazier Joe Biagini Brad Ziegler Chad Kuhl Bryan Flynn
  5. Howie Kendrick (eligible at 1B, 2B, 3B, OF) is available for a MiLB upgrade on pick 92.
  6. MiLB 58 to FeatherD for Cesar Hernandez
  7. I'm arguing against the idea that Park's defense and baserunning are good enough to make him desireable at 3M when Carter is not desireable at 4M, despite Carter likely being better offensively. I don't think that position makes sense. Gun to my head, I'll assume Park is a run or two better at both, but we definitely don't know that, and I think defense and baserunning are terrible justifications for saying you'd love Park at 3M and want no part of Carter at 4M.
  8. There you go. No reason to continue.
  9. I think you're aware of how silly it is to say that 30-year old 1B A is better at baserunning and defense than 30-year old 1B B based on 206 innings of defensive metrics and 62 games of baserunning data (for a guy who never gets on base). There's so little information that it's worse than no information, because it's worthless, but leads to baseless statements.
  10. We have no idea whether he's a better baserunner or fielder, but he's almost certainly a worse hitter. I just can't make sense of wanting him at 2/6 more than Carter at 1/4.
  11. My lasting memory of Dickey will be his sweaty look of exasperation as a 450-ft dinger sails over his head.
  12. It seems like Texas is going to sign Napoli eventually. There's an opportunity here for Toronto to undo the Smoak mistake and replace him with a clearly-better player on the cheap. Hopefully they take it. Also, HOW DOES LOMO KEEP GETTING JOBS?
  13. Weren't you just saying yesterday that you don't want Chris Carter? He's what you get if Park exceeds expectations.
  14. The better question: will Gibbers every try to make the playoffs, in any dynasty league?
  15. Does Park go back to Korea?
  16. It's just around the corner. Just keep waiting.
  17. He should probably acquire a pen arm. Hit me up TCA.
  18. I always do my best to win every series, even after 1st is off the table. This loser talk is why you'll never be DDL material.
  19. That's fine if everyone is healthy. I think it comes down to two questions: is Smoak going to be on the roster? Is Carter 4M more valuable than Smoak? If the answer to both of those questions is yes, then Carter makes sense.
  20. I get the bearish attitude on Thaiss. He's not catching anymore, and it's fair to wonder if he'll hit enough to be relevant at 1B.
