    Yeah, I was thinking in the 2/20-25 neighborhood too. So he's overpaid by about the same 11M Morales is owed. I guess it depends on whether they see value in getting dollars off the books by the end of the 2019 season. You're probably right that they'd need some other kicker.

    I don’t really understand the market anymore, but I feel like Leake wouldn’t get 2/36 via free agency in this new world where nobody wants to pay anyone over 30.Who knows though.

    Is Morales for Leake close? If you assume Morales and his 11M is a complete sunk cost works out to 2/25 for Leake. Probably still need Seattle to kick in a player or $.

    The Mariners just won 89 games. The Rays won 90 games and their best position players were Joey Wendle and Mallex Smith. The A's won 97 games and got above average seasons from 0 starting pitchers. Teams can have a lot more warts than we think and still make noise. Would anyone actually be surprised if the team won 88 games next year after signing, say, Keuchel and Happ? I wouldn't be at all surprised about that outcome.

    I just don't like the idea of punting the 2019 season before it starts. We've seen teams like Oakland and TB compete in the AL largely by ensuring that everyone on the 25-man is contributing wins and not playing at sub-replacement level. With Vlad coming in April and what has become quite a deep 40-man roster, there's no reason not to try to win as many game as possible without borrowing too much from the future. Keuchel at his projected salary would allow them to do that.

    I can’t believe I’m going to defend jaysblue, but flags fly forever. He got into the playoffs, and 12 teams didn’t. From there he took care of business. Full credit.

    We have 2-3 teams available this offseason, and the league has voted almost unanimously to hold an optional dispersal draft. So there will be a dispersal draft for the assets held by the teams going to the 2 or 3 new owners, but the draft will be open to any team in the league, so we expect there to be 5-10 teams participating in this. Our forum hasn't had any new dynasty leagues in a few years, so if you've been wanting to start a team completely from scratch, you should get in on this. The league is a 20-team dynasty entering year 4. We have 25-man rosters, 12-man farms, and 7x7 head-to-head scoring, and we use Yahoo. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here or send me a pm. Any complaints about me starting another thread about this should be directed to our moderation team. I'll be sure to carefully review your grievances.

    It’s not worth pissing anyone off if the free Fantrax doesn’t have farm rosters, and I have no interest whatsoever in dealing with league fees, so yahoo it is. Looking forward to having this conversation again next year.
