There is use for him though: he's a league-average outfielder on a reasonable salary, and isn't standing in anyone's way. His skill set also makes him a perfect 4th OF, and he seems to like Toronto, so he could conceivably have a role on the team for the next few years even if he's more a 1-2 WAR guy. Not every capable MLB talent needs to be jettisoned for the best lotto ticket you can find. The team would likely be looking to sign a Kevin Pillar in FA this offseason. Why not just keep the one they have? Especially given he likes it here and has a long history with the org?

It's not clear at all that he's being shopped, and it's certainly not clear that nobody would want to pay him 5M. I really don't understand why you're so eager to remove a quality OF from a team that has exactly one other quality OF.

Buchholz is probably going to open on the DL so they can carry Hernandez and Pompey if they go with a 4-man bench and 7 relievers. I think that makes sense, because they're not facing any immediate roster crunch on the pitching end. The bullpen right now is: Giles Norris Tepera Biagini Mayza So they can still roster Lucianio if they want to, plus one of the guys with options (Gaviglio, Pannone, Paulino, Thornton). I guess it depends how much they care about losing Pompey, because I don't think Hernandez is being optioned.

I’m numb to the pain, and actually look forward to the next disaster, whereas you are still capable of being hurt. The leafs look f***ing awful. Also, I’m a lightning fan so my team is better than yours.

Watching the Angels game and Pujols is an absolute trainwreck at 1B. Three errors on two routine grounders in the same inning. They need to just accept the sunk cost and cut him.
