    You are 100% wrong. Teams non-tender arbitration-eligible players that they no longer want to retain at their project arbitration salaries. Letting a pending free agent go to free agency without offering them a contract is not what non-tendering means.

    Stroman has been criticizing the FO publicly since like 2017. It's pretty easy to see how a senior member of of the Jays FO would be sick of his s***. For acting like a petulant child, not for being black. Syndergaard and DeGrom pitch for the f***ing Wilpons, and as far as I'm aware they've both conducted themselves nothing but professionally.

    I don’t think the Stroman trade is a disaster. I’d probably give it a 4/10.

    I'll be pretty surprised if they spend. The only good pitcher on the staff is Giles, and he'll probably be traded in the offseason. They'd need to acquire an entire pitching staff.

    Yup. This is where I stand on the direction of the team right now. The general direction has been correct (and I think Shapiro has a lot to do with that) but the details of how it’s been put into practice have been highly questionable. I don’t think there’s any basis for arguing that Atkins is a good GM at this point. I don’t think he’s terrible either, but I’d like to see someone else in his role under Shapiro.

    - I don’t like the Stroman return - I don’t care about the Sanchez trade, but I feel like Atkins got out-negotiated by Luhnow - Thrilled to get anything for Phelps, Hudson, and Sogard. Big old ‘meh’ from me.

    So like how was Cal Stevenson included here? Luhnow wanted Sanchez and Biagini on his roster for the stretch, and was willing to part with Fisher, but absolutely refused to make the trade unless mildly interesting low-minors prospect Cal Stevenson was thrown in? Ross Atkins must be awful at poker.

    Guys, we no longer have to watch Sanchez walk 4 guys in 5 innings then leave with sore fingers and blame his defense after the game even though his xFIP for the start was over 7. This is a glorious day for Jays fans everywhere. Thank you Shatkins.

    What are the odds that Sanchez has a better year than Shane Greene's 2019 next season? Greene just returned Joey Wentz and Travis Demeritte. The odds that Sanchez @ 5M or whatever was going to become so dominant in relief that he'd return much more than Derek Fisher are pretty long. Zero problem with them walking away from him now.

    We're about to find out how good the Blue Jays vaunted advanced analytics and player development departments are. If Sanchez becomes Charlie Morton we should all be very, very concerned.

    He's pretty much had 3 full seasons lost to injury since being drafted. The massive injury risk is part of the Ryan Borucki package.
