Bellinger is a lot more exciting than Ohtani. Cutting his PAs by 50%, moving him to DH, and giving him 70 ace level innings as a pitcher wouldn’t make a more useful or exciting player.

Yup. I think you can reasonably make the argument that pitching him has cost the team 4-5 wins already, and you can add more to that total this year. He’s probably an elite defensive corner OF with a cannon arm and 70 speed with a 130 wRC+ bat. Not really dissimilar from Mookie Betts maybe.

He had the surgery 18 months ago on April 1st.

They had been saying all offseason that he might be ready for the start of the season. It’s been well over a year since his surgery.

I'd be surprised if Pederson is even really on the team's radar. He's a free agent after the season, and they've been unwilling to move prospects for short term help.

Shaw has never played short in the majors. Drury has like 50 innings there. Biggio hasn’t played an inning of short above AA. Not sure if he spent time there in the low minors. I’m sure they can all stand there and field the balls hit right at them, but they’re probably not going to be competent. I’m guessing Ruben Tejada ends up making the 25-man unless Espinal has a big spring. Like you, I’m hoping they sign Holt.

Valera DFA’d to make room for Dolis. SS needs to be addressed now. Aside from Bichette the only SS on the 40-man is Espinal, who almost certainly sucks.

Yes. 32 total, with a max MLB of 22 and min of 18.

I've moved a few guys out. Still have a couple relievers that I think are rosterable and would move for pick upgrades: Britton and Amir Garrett. Britton is probably good for like 30 saves + holds this year.
