Actually, I don't know about the 19-week season. Feels weird to end the playoffs on Sep 18 when the season runs to Oct 5th. But giving every team one opponent that they see twice isn't ideal either and the balanced schedule is nice. Anyone have thought before the season starts tomorrow?

Just changed the schedule to be 19 weeks. Seems like the most fair way to do it. Not sure I want to commit to locking the team for the entire season though. Maybe.

A lot of the trades Cleveland got criticized for have worked out pretty well: Clevinger -> Cal Quantrill, Gabriel Arias, Owen Miller Kluber -> Clase Bauer -> Franmil Reyes Lindor + Carrasco -> Amed Rosario, Andres Gimenez, Josh Wolf, Isaiah Greene Basically all of the guys they were criticized for trading would now be on albatross FA deals if they had opened the purse strings to keep them. I guess you could criticize the lack of impact talent they got in return, but they managed to get productive major leaguers in every case.

I think people are sleeping a bit on the Guardians. I think he probably perceives them as a team that can win. He became a full-time player in 2016, and he's been to the playoffs 4 times in those 6 years. They're something close to a 0.500 team now, and are going to have Espino, Valera, Rocchio, Arias, Noel, Jones, and Freeman all in AA or above knocking on the door of the majors this year. I think he plays his share of playoff games over the life of his contract.

He has a full NTC, 10-5 rights this offseason, and reportedly signed this deal against his agent's advice because he wanted to stay in Cleveland. It's over.
