Yeah. I think people have been a bit spoiled by all of the recent major FA signings. They're at a point now where they actually need to be mindful of payroll. This Teo trade was the first move they've made in this current contention window that was about $ as much as on-field considerations.

This is a good trade. A very good trade. Teo is a 30-year old ~ league average corner outfielder with 1 year of control left, in which he'll earn around 15M. That doesn't have much value. In return they get 3 years of a reliever who's every bit as good as Jordan Romano, and they get him for about 13M cheaper than Teo is going to be in 2023. They also get a lotto ticket in Macko.

Offense was/is a bit of a mess with positional eligibility losses. Lots of moves to make this offseason.

I still have a couple of moves I'd like to make. Would move Hunter Renfroe or Elehuris Montero for someone with 2B/SS eligibility or picks/prospects. Renfroe is averaging 30HR, 72R and 84RBI the last two years with a 257/315/496 slash.

They have the same problem at forward. They haven't been able to develop anything except maybe Robertson, so they're paper thin after their top-6. Bunting and Robertson are top-6 forwards for them, and might be playing above their talent level, and the bottom 6 is Kerfoot, Kampf, Jarnkrok, Malgin, Engvall, Aston-Reese, and Aube-Kubel. They might not actually be a good team.
