  1. Yup. He'll definitely catch on somewhere as a platoon 1B or pinch hit option for the min.
  2. They also kept Hosmer through the rule v draft, had Thad Ward taken 1st overall, then DFA’d Hosmer
  3. Brett Anderson + a banned shift is going to get annihilated
  4. It looked like such a safe deal too: 28-36 seasons for a guy coming off consecutive 7 WAR seasons, and who contributed with speed, defense, contact and power. Might not be a complete disaster if he keeps putting up league average seasons.
  5. Lmao
  6. I'm pretty sure your history on the forum reads something like: - joined - were almost immediately invited to join a forum dynasty league - receive honest answers every time you post a question in the fantasy thread - have never been banned I'm not sure how you feel the mods can make your stay here more pleasant. Spanky is out of the reacharound business.
  7. Can someone please change Terminator's title from 'MVP' to 'BJMB Sherriff'
  8. I'm reasonably sure that tercet wanted to kill me. Like, legit find out where I live and turn me into a skin suit. I never got anything like that vibe from TL.
  9. I took tercet out behind the proverbial woodshed like 4 years ago.
  10. Reddit is designed so that it’s mostly a bunch of anonymous people shouting into the void. Here, you can have more of a back and forth and build a rapport with the other members.
  11. Curious to see where Texas pivots with Rodon of the board. They have a 0.500 ish team, and their best players are 35, 32, and 29 this season so they need to win now.
  12. Of the top 15 in total value, I think only Greinke wasn't a disaster? Haven't looked any actual numbers up. Maybe Zobrist?
  13. What? Those 4 contracts are almost 90% of the total payout to Semien, Seager, DeGrom and Gray and they were signed 8-10 years ago. Cabrera, Zimmermann, and Fielder are 85% of the payout to Machado, Bogaerts, and Musgrove. SD doesn't have a 4th expensive long-term contract on the books. Do you just post things without thinking about whether they make sense?
  14. 8/248 for Miguel Cabrera in 2014 5/110 for Jordan Zimmermann in 2016 9/214 for Prince Fielder in 2012 4/68 for Victor Martinez in 2014 Looks a lot like what Texas and Philly are doing. 'Assemble a team by outbidding the rest of the league for old free agents' is not a new strategy. It has typically not been a path to success.
  15. Didn't see this coming
  16. I agree
  17. If the team is comfortable with a contract approaching 400M they shouldn’t have tunnel vision with Bo and Vlad. Machado, Bregman, Soto, Ohtani and Devers might also be hitting the market within the next two seasons, and any of those might make better targets.
  18. Defense tends to start declining at 26 or so. A big SS like Correa with rapidly declining speed and a long injury history seeing his defense decline at 27, is like, the most expected trajectory imaginable.
  19. Correa's speed and baserunning has been declining his entire career, to the point where he's now below average, and his defense took a big hit in 2022. He wasn't a plus defensive SS at 27, so its reasonable to think he probably won't be at 28. That bat is going to carry him to 3-5 win seasons in the short term if he stays healthy. I don't know what Kiermaier has to do with this. He's probably going to put up 1-2 WAR in 500 PA for 8-10M. Also he's beautiful.
  20. Tulo is who he reminds me of. Big SS with an injury history who is already showing signs of declining athleticism. There's a not that unlikely world in which Correa as almost immediately an all-bat SS without elite power who hits in one of the biggest HR suppressing parks in the league.
  21. What is it about Correa that makes you think his skill should age well?
  22. Yeah. He's already seen his speed slip to below average, and his defense fell of a cliff last year. He's also had a lot of injury issues. Not liking the odds of him holding up long as an elite player.
  23. Bo in particular is looking at a 350M payday in three years. I think there's basically no chance he's here past 2025.
  24. Aaron Judge's contract is a steal compared to the Turner, Correa, and Bogaerts deals. All three of those guys have warts.
