Yeah. Down to 4 years left on the deal after this one. If they're willing to eat anywhere close to 50% they could probably return a killing. 4 x 5.75 cap hit is really attractive for a d-man who plays 25 minutes a night and is on a 100-point pace halfway through the season.

I agree with connorp here. If the Giants are the high bidder on Conforto, they're likely going to sign him. Boras isn't going to cost his client money because his feelings were hurt in the Correa negotiation.

Giants basically have to sign Conforto now. I do respect the stones required to walk away because of concerning medicals though. The PR hit will be brutal. That's a huge financial commitment to a guy you have health concerns about before the ink dries.
