  1. Buck Showalter's career winnings percentage is .518.
  2. I don't think think so. I would have much preferred finish 2nd or 3rd than 4th. I want to place as high as possible in a given season, even if I don't win.
  3. 4th place. At least I improved on my 5th place finish last year. f***, it's going to be such a long road back to the playoffs.
  4. One thing the Orioles did an amazing job at was not wasting playing time on bad players. I posted in another thread that the Jays lost about 1600 PA to replacement-level play, which is more than 25% of the season. For the Orioles, this number was at about 200 PA.
  5. Well, I'm now even more convinced than I already was that a lot of resources are going to be pumped into the bullpen this offseason.
  6. I love the question about the bench.
  7. Oh, a discussion about just how many glove-only players you can feasibly carry in a lineup. Like it's not a lot more nuanced than that.
  8. Now talking about how they can sacrifice offense for the sake of defense. That worked well with Goins.
  9. Now he's mocking the people who correctly wondered how the same team minus Josh Johnson would contend in 2014.
  10. Someone just dropped the hammer. Who was that?
  11. He's talked around most questions without answering them.
  12. Yeah. Days off + a healthy Brett will definitely help Reyes' defense. Definitely.
  13. "I don't know that we had a backup shortstop this year. That's not to cast blame, but..." Where does the blame lie Alex?
  14. Pretty obviously the wording. That's a phrase that gets used when a team is about to not add impact talent.
  15. "Durability is going to be weighed more than it has"
  16. Now he's implying that some injury-prone players could have played through more pain.
  17. He thinks the Orioles bullpen is a big difference between them and the Jays. AA is gonna be investing in some relievers.
  18. "I don't think you spend just for the sake of spending" This is a trainwreck.
  19. Completely dodged the payroll question.
  20. Mark Trumbo has six homers in his last 11 games. Nice to see him healthy and producing. The vultures were starting to circle with some crazy lowball offers.
  21. So does Wada have any value as a keeper? Not sure if I want to drop him to stream a starter and take a run at 3rd.
  22. The idea of AA getting promoted out of the GM spot is offensive to me, even if it is likely a better situation than the status quo.
  23. I'm not sure why people keep bringing this up. We all know that nobody at Rogers understands baseball. There's no reason to complain about it because A) they aren't going to sell the team, and it's possible to have a sustained run of success with them as the owners. If they're going to provide a top-10 payroll, the team can win under their ownership. They just have to hire the right President. On the other hand, I don't think this team can win under Beeston and AA. They need to be fired ASAP so Rogers can take another kick at the can and attempt to hire a competent President.
  24. Wouldn't surprise me. They said it wouldn't, but after they lied about the payroll space at the deadline nothing would surprise me.
