Wow, guys like Mitch Marner and Dylan Strome are putting up numbers that would have them 1st overall in a lot of years. Edit; I guess Strome plays on a line with McDavid, so there's that. Everything I'm reading on Marner has him sounding pretty legit though.

What's not to like? He's 24, just threw 32 starts in a season with a 3.82 xFIP and looks like at least an average SP going forward. -
I think you know that baseball coaches/managers/executives leave organizations all the time while under contract and that it isn't at all analagous to a player doing the same.

A few things: - Reading through this thread for news and seeing 5 pages of people responding to a Baltimore troll that isn't even subtle about it is disappointing. - Dan Norris is annoying. - Dan Duquette almost certainly isn't worth this circus. - I'm getting more and more concerned that Ed Rogers is going to do something stupid.

Yes. At least Friedman. I'm confident that he can transform the entire organization from the President's spot.

Anthony Gose is less than 5 months older than Devon Travis and has proven that he has the skill set to contribute at the major league level while Travis hasn't left AA. I like Travis as a prospect, but it's far from guaranteed that he has the better career. I'm not even saying I don't like the trade - I think it's a fair deal. Jarrod Dyson has put up 8 wins in less than 1000 PA with a very similar skill set to Gose's.

IMO the Travis trade is a wash and the bottom 4 are unlikely to yield much of anything, but yeah, this offseason has been amazing.

Scary thing is that Ed Rogers knows absolutely nothing about baseball. If he instructs AA to move some prospect named Dan Norris for Duquette, Norris is gone.

I didn't want Garza, and I made several hundred posts about how bad an idea Ubaldo was. If I were GM Rasmus would be locked in for 3 more years at $10-15 M per, and the fans would all want me fired though.

Baseball is crazy. If you were to tell us a year ago that Colby Rasmus would walk after 2014 and give us nothing in return we'd assume we just lost a great asset that will leave a big hole on the team.
