  1. Cruz will get big money per season in a short deal I suspect.
  2. I still can't believe we lost 2/3 to Tampa at home right now. Win one more game this weekend and we're only 3 out today.
  3. No doubt there will be more guys accepting their qualifying offers this year No one wants to be the next Drew/Morales/Cruz. I mean, ultimately they all found jobs for a good part of the season, but no one wants to go in to ST unemployed. Problem is the agents for the second tier guys all think their guys will get great deals. Last year it just didn't happen.
  4. Not likely he accepts (though fine/great if he does). Even if he refuses, it still helps our ability to retrain him.
  5. That said re Lind, he should really be almost exclusively DH and let Edwin play 1B. Neither is good at all, but I think Edwin is a little bit better Edit: I checked defensive stats. At first glace they both look equally bad by dWAR but Edwin plays more games at 1B so cumulative stats aren't ideal. UZR/150 is between -10 and -11 for Edwin each of the last two years, while Lind had one season better and one season worse, one at -7.4, one at -19.5 (yuck) Bahhh. They both suck. Maybe it doesn't matter.
  6. Again, with Colby gone, we can EASILY afford to bump Melky up from 8M per season to 12-13M.
  7. Agreed I was all for getting rid of Lind a couple years ago but I've changed my mind You could do a lot worse for the money (7.5M with 1M buyout). I don't think you could replace his bat for that, especially when you essentially have to add 1M to the price you're paying the incoming free agent. Spend any available $ on Melky, the middle infield and the bullpen - wherever you can get the best bang for the buck.
  8. He sure can. But he's also almost guaranteed regression next year and he's no more positionally flexible than Lind. We really can't use him.
  9. GD in with another eloquent rebuttal
  10. Also cause Miggy "only" hit .310/.373/.513 OPS .886 and 22 HR this year
  11. I'm pretty sure the writers will really want to give one to Trout this year, after two years of the uncomfortable Miggy/Tigers in the playoffs vs Trout/Angels not debate. I'm pretty sure he gets it and they'll be satisfied giving Felix the Cy Young. In the NL it's hard not to give both awards to Kershaw. I think he probably deserves both.
  12. He kind of wore out his welcome #Understatement
  13. I disagree, even though he might be good at it. If he can make it as a starter he should start. We don't know that he can yet, but starter should definitely be plan A.
  14. Your theory of a payroll decline is looking slightly more plausible
  15. So everything went right in these other games, great We should have gained a game by winning ourselves but we didn't

Insane Any more word yet on if it might get reduced?

Wow the NFL is facing image crises all the time now. These aren't third line scrubs doing bad stuff and creating negative media attention These are SUPERSTAR players. And it's not just sports fans that are hearing about it. Wives that could literally name one or two NFL players at most have heard all about Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson, just like they did about Michael Vick. Will it hurt the NFL's bottom line much? Probably not right away. But they gotta watch it or people could get slowly turned off. Partly because it gets harder to cheer for these guys, but also the league is less fun to watch when star players are out.
  18. Indians 2.1% Yankees 1.1%
  19. My thoughts exactly. I was expecting bigger walk up crowds this weekend due to the buzz, a bit "false" though it may be.
  20. Interesting tidbit If I try to type "Chappy" in a post on my phone it autocorrects to "cheaply"
  21. It's a break for us and a message to him If he comes back and goes right back at it I don't feel bad about a permanent ban then
  22. Looks like it was 31,368? That's disappointing if true.
  23. How was the crowd yesterday??
