    It just seems like when players rave about their favorite coaches it's never big name guys. Question 2 is a good point. How do you really know. Once guysvare in the majors they probably are mostly responsible for their own performance.

    Good point. He was a phenomenal and patient hitter in large part because of that, even before the roids helped him achieve superhuman batspeed and power.

    Maybe I'm being too cynical but this Bonds thing seems like a ploy by him and the Marlins. For them -" look, we got the best hitter otbthe modern era working for us!" PR move to make themselves look better in the eyes of the fans For him - "look at me, I'm still in baseball and being a good guy. Put me in the hall of fame"

    Seems like often the best coaches are the ones who struggled to find success themselves and had to try everything. That and you have to be patient and observant. Somehow I don't see Bonds being either of those things.
