  1. All good points above Hutch could be very good and if he is that's huge After spring training you make the best of what you have. That could be Hutch in the rotation and Chavez swing man from the pen. It could be Hutch in AAA. Truth is, Hutch will have a lot to prove in spring training. And I hope he kicks ass.
  2. They've now seen money pour in when there's a playoff run though
  3. I don't get it Beane doesn't make much sense anymore. He's all over the place.
  4. Agree It's too late to get a deal on him now which sucks Everyone knows how good he is now
  5. It's because of back to back World Series wins I'd say
  6. Most immediately successful?
  7. Greinke will receive an amazing $206.5MM over six years, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic tweets. While that will include some deferred money (via Rosenthal), the total comes just short of David Price‘s $217MM deal with the Tigers, which was the largest ever for a pitcher. (The amount of those deferrals isn’t yet known, but Rosenthal tweets that the present-day value of Greinke’s deal is around $90MM.) And Greinke’s contract is for only six years, compared to Price’s seven (although Price’s contains an opt-out, and Greinke’s does not, as ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick tweets). Greinke’s $34.42MM AAV will be baseball’s largest ever, blowing away both Price and Miguel Cabrera, who got $31MM.
  8. If Stanton and Kershaw couldn't, it will be a while
  9. People gonna freak on Friedman if he doesn't fix the starting rotation another way
  10. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS 1m1 minute ago so LA offer was about 31M per year for 5 yrs. never felt comfortable going 6 for 32-yr-old pitcher.
  11. Good deal
  12. Yeah I'm optimistic about this combo. And I suspect Shapiro and LaCava will do the bulk of the heavy lifting for the next 6-12 months anyhow.
  13. To sum up the last couple pages we're pretty much shrugging our shoulders at this hire?
  14. I had a pair of those. I liked them except wallets and keys can sink about 3 feet down in the pockets. LOL
  15. The Tigers are in agreement on a contract with free agent right-hander Mike Pelfrey, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. Pelfrey is represented by agent Scott Boras.
  16. If so I feel better about the Smoak contract (which I don't mind that much anyway TBH)
  17. So, when does Terry Francona get hired??
  18. Alright So we're the Canadian Indians now?
  19. I can picture/hear him saying every word of that very quickly
