Weeks of bidding has reportedly driven the price tag for Josh Donaldson into the nine-figure range over a four-year term, with at least three clubs said to be sitting at that lofty price point. The end game may now be upon us. The star third baseman has given teams what amounts to a firm and final asking price, according to a report from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic (subscription link). Donaldson is “simply waiting for one of the clubs to his number” — around $110MM — per the report.

Yeah he was on MLB Network today. He said that half a dozen other teams told him they wanted to sign him. But several wouldn't promise full time at bats. And others (Including Boston he said) were making him wait for an actual contract offer while they worked on other things. Jays offered full playing time and a contract on the table and he grabbed it because he's seen guys "get screwed" the last few years while waiting too long. Also he says he didn't care if he played 1B or 3B as long as he got full time at bats.

Only played 1/3 of his games at Coors Field and had stupid good numbers severywhere he played plus great defence. He needs to get in.

I think they were only interested in Price if they couldn't sign a high level starter via free agency. I don't see them making that trade now. If they're trading for anyone I would prefer Clevinger or a quality CF

That Marlins outfield was so good before they tore it down. Yellich has maintained the best output since then. Stanton hurt too much. Ozuna has been up and down.
