  1. You caught be between edits as I was alternating between two tabs on my phone's web browser FFS, Betts and Trout both have a better wRC + than Ramirez. Plus they provide very good defense and base running. Just no
  2. I almost hope Martinez doesn't do it because him winning it as a DH vs Betts and Lindor and Trout who are better all around players would be annoying AF
  3. AL MVP is crazy as usual Mookie Betts 8.5 WAR Mike Trout 8.0 WAR Jose Ramirez 7.9 WAR Francisco Lindor 7.1 WAR J. D. Martinez 5.7 WAR but has a chance of leading all of MLB in BA, HR and RBI Who gets the votes?
  4. I vote Girardi too Unjustly let go One year off Time to get back at it for him and it might be the best opening available this off season
  5. AA will want him at least as bench manager
  6. We all wish So does Shapiro But he won't leave Cleveland
  7. For better or for worse
  8. It sounds for real this time
  9. I dunno. The draft pick compensation is so much less now for qualified players it means a lot less than it used to. Jays would have had a sandwich pick between rounds 2 and 3.
  10. Agreed There's money if you can lure one SP free agents with age: Patrick Corbin (29) Dallas Keuchel (31) Clayton Kershaw (31) -- Can opt out of the two years and $65 million remaining on his contract. Charlie Morton (35) David Price (33) -- Can opt out of the four years and $127 million remaining on his contract. J.A. Happ (36) CC Sabathia (38) Lance Lynn (32) Trevor Cahill (31) Derek Holland (32) Clay Buchholz (34) Anibal Sanchez (35) Nathan Eovaldi (29) Gio Gonzalez (33) Hyun-Jin Ryu (32) Matt Harvey (30) Jeremy Hellickson (32) Wade Miley (32) Garrett Richards (32) Tyson Ross (32) Brett Anderson (31) Edwin Jackson (35) Marco Estrada (35) Bartolo Colon (46) Jaime Garcia (32) Adam Wainwright (37) Drew Pomeranz (30) Miguel Gonzalez (35) Francisco Liriano (35) Chris Tillman (31) Hisashi Iwakuma (35) -- Hasn't appeared in the Majors in 2018.
  11. Ended the night with three home runs, totalling 1,380 feet. Absolutely NUTS https://www.mlb.com/rockies/news/trevor-story-hits-three-home-runs-in-one-game/c-293514494
  12. Not from their side maybe But from Donaldson's side??? Meh. Can't see it.
  13. deGrom has more WAR by a fair bit, fewer walks, lower ERA by a lot, lower FIP, lower xFIP. Sherzer has more strikeouts (260 vs 230) and a way better W-L record (16-6 vs 8-8) since the Nationals have scored over 5 runs per start when he pitches (vs Mets who score 3.6 when deGrom does)
  14. Please tell me Scherzer won't win the Cy Young because of W-L records
  15. That's just sad Mets are good at finding ways to lose games
  16. DeGrom has not allowed more than 3 runs in 25 consecutive games, breaking the record for the most since the mound was lowered 49 years ago Era 1.68 this year
  17. It won't be But we may now have the prospect capital to trade for one
  18. We're gonna need some new starting pitching, folks
  19. Maybe an Edwin level contract?
  20. Jose Urena gets 6 games for hitting Acuna
  21. 56 position players have pitched in MLB games this year Just wow
  22. He has to report for sure No idea if he has to follow the team. Around I suppose
  23. Yeah Phillies are in contention. Every game matters. Tell him you're not doing this to save money that you're trying to win in a division that's unexpectedly up for grabs. He won't even miss a ML start. He just has to ride the bus in the minors for a bit which I'm sure sucks. Add 20k to his league min salary next year as a sign of good faith.
