  1. They prob should have traded him last year of course Tampa does this better than anyone
  2. You get a logjam They prob don't want to trade Gurriel unless they know they're getting another quality OF from somewhere #ballsintheair
  3. Who honestly has the money for Bauer? If the Mets sign Springer on top of Stroman and McCann will they really blow more on Bauer when they probanly already like their starting rotation potential? Yankees are almost certainly out of the question for multiple reasons Angels could use him desperately and MIGHT be willing to reach but they have payroll issues Most other teams are either flat broke and/or are in no way going to contend with or without Bauer So maybe we have a real chance...
  4. Yes The power is insane Just needs to sort out the swing plane/launch angle business
  5. That swing was f'n beautiful Si senores! Adios!!!
  6. Yeah I get the feeling the Mets won't be outbid on Springer Drive the cost up so they cant afford anything else...
  7. So Lindor and Bauer it is...
  8. The MLB network hosts (mostly previous GMs with contacts) talk about it like it's extremely likely to happen
  9. Why are there still 3 separate rules and systems for acquiring: 1. North American players 2. Players from Venezuela/Dominican Republic/Puerto Rico etc (plus Cubans have to defect) 3. Korea and Japan
  10. I think he was referring to the Jays signing Russel Martin, but I don't see how that has anything to do with decisions to be made this off season
  11. You're right Its all open bidding now. Players can sign with whoever they want The Darvish / Rangers signing resulted in a change to all that. His Japanese team got way too much money and he himself got underpaid. It was a pretty stupid system.
  12. They really should have anyway Owner wanted him extended from day 1 so he must be willing to pay the price
  13. Zero prospect cost, zero draft pick cost and probably reasonable $. At worst he's a useful utility infielder and at best an exciting above average every day player. I'd take the gamble if you're worried you can't get Springer or Lindor right now and he's willing to sign. Let's do this and use $$/trade chips for starting pitching
  14. Brian Cashman had an interview on YES today Tidbits borrowed from MLBTR Cashman indicated the Yankees are intent on bringing back second baseman DJ LeMahieu, who’s among baseball’s elite free agents, but he isn’t sure if an agreement will come together. Although LeMahieu also has interest in returning to the team, Cashman doesn’t believe a deal is any closer to materializing than it was previously. Shortstop Gleyber Torres might be a fit for the keystone, though, as Cashman admitted, “I think he’s a better second baseman than shortstop On Sanchez. the Yankees still believe in the 28-year-old, saying, “There’s certainly an anticipation and an expectation of a bounce-back for Gary Sanchez.” The GM noted that Sanchez was an All-Star in 2019 who’s perennially a 30-home run type, adding that he paced all major league catchers in exit velocity. “No one hit the ball harder at that position than he did
  15. They probanly get Springer. Goddammit. Happy f'n Hannukah.
  16. Wish AA was here to convince them all to sign Acuna/Albies style contracts... Kidding
  17. The Rangers are set to acquire first baseman Nate Lowe from the Tampa Bay Rays for catcher Heriberto Hernandez and other prospects, writes MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand (via Twitter).
  18. They might as well have just re-hired Ruben Amaro Jr
  19. He'll insist on retaining Realmuto for over 100 million dollars
  20. Turner would be great too. Perennial 3-5 WAR, 130 wRC+ and will get a short term deal at 36. There really are some good options for the Jays
