    Gibbons said that he has been pleased with Izturis’ recent production at the hot corner, noting that he has “really settled it nicely over there" - He is a passable fill-in at 3B but that's not good enough on a team that wants to make the playoffs next year. Izturis should be on the bench next year as backup to a legit all-around very good infield. He should not start in 150 games.

    Oh I was kidding, along the lines of more "borderline outfielders for hard throwing relievers" Why are they shopping Hughes anyway??? Pineda due back soon or something?

    The team also needs to decide if they're keeping Adam Lind or not Even if they do, they have no DH if they move Edwin to 3rd Any way you slice it, you may need a new player. The question then is - can we acquire a good DH/1B, 2B or 3B. Who can we get via FA or trade and where do they fit. They will not stand pat on this infield, something is gonna change this off season.

    Hopefully, if Lawrie is being moved to 2B, it's because AA has a good plan for 3rd that we don't know about yet. Cause yeah, the in-house options are not appealing. I was intrigued by Bautista going to 3B but there are no signs of that happening and we may no longer have a legit starting outfielder in Anthony Gose. That means we need Bautista and his cannon in RF.

    Better blocking. Still poor pitch framing and terrible throwing. I just don't like the whole package.
