  1. The team also needs to decide if they're keeping Adam Lind or not Even if they do, they have no DH if they move Edwin to 3rd Any way you slice it, you may need a new player. The question then is - can we acquire a good DH/1B, 2B or 3B. Who can we get via FA or trade and where do they fit. They will not stand pat on this infield, something is gonna change this off season.
  2. God dammit I like the A's.
  3. My God this organization has an atrocious record on drafting and developing position players. It's just incredibly bad.
  4. Hopefully, if Lawrie is being moved to 2B, it's because AA has a good plan for 3rd that we don't know about yet. Cause yeah, the in-house options are not appealing. I was intrigued by Bautista going to 3B but there are no signs of that happening and we may no longer have a legit starting outfielder in Anthony Gose. That means we need Bautista and his cannon in RF.
  5. Better blocking. Still poor pitch framing and terrible throwing. I just don't like the whole package.
  6. Gose is also getting caught stealing at a concerning rate AFAIC
  7. milb.com: Brett Lawrie hit his first home run to put the Herd up 5-1 in the top of the sixth. Lawrie is on a rehab stint for the Blue Jays after injuring his ankle in May. He joined the Herd today after playing three games with Double-A New Hampshire and two with Single-A Dunedin and Lansing. The second baseman went 2-for-4 with three RBI's and a run scored on the night.
  8. JPA for backup next year to someone who provides above average defense
  9. Agree. This off season need to acquire a reliable catcher via free asgency The market will be flush with them, driving down prices Someone just needs to convince AA that Arencibia is inadequate I can even (gulp) live with Izturis at 2B next year if they upgrade at catcher and make sure they have 3 productive outfielders and if Lawrie looks better second half
  10. The board is now usable at my workplace despite the fact that the firewall is normally VERY restrictive here Good job
  11. Another two starts like last night and his trade value goes way up
  12. Yeah, I still love the guy. Streaky? Yes. But when he's on, there are few better. And he's such a boss too. This team needs him.
  13. Never heard of him but what a beautiful dog
  14. Good night for Romero: 7IP, 6h, 2er, 2bb, 7k for win as Buffalo beats Syracuse 6-2
  15. Ridiculous Trade Bautista if you get a king's ransom, but I'm not giving up on him, EE and Reyes.
  16. I think he's assuming he's untradeable, or thatbhe knows AA won't do it, and that there's no one to replace him with right now This off season will be the time to address it. Tons of FA catchers available.
  17. Glad Bautista and Edwin not in it #SaveThePower
  18. It will be Cespedes TSN: NEW YORK -- Yoenis Cespedes of the Oakland Athletics will swing for the Citi Field fences in the Home Run Derby next Monday night, rounding out the eight-player field. Major League Baseball announced Tuesday evening that Cespedes has been selected by American League captain Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees. MLB revealed the other participants Monday, saying Cano's final pick had not yet been finalized. Cespedes will become the fourth player not chosen for the All-Star game to compete in the event. The others were Rafael Palmeiro (2004), Hee-Seop Choi (2005) and Ryan Howard (2007), who was defending his crown from the previous year. The other members of the AL squad are Baltimore slugger Chris Davis and Detroit's Prince Fielder. National League captain David Wright of the hometown New York Mets tabbed Washington's Bryce Harper along with Colorado teammates Carlos Gonzalez and Michael Cuddyer.
  19. If he's using PED's he should fire his dealer.
  20. Could've used that in Cleveland tonight...
  21. Wow, Dunedin got not offense now or what??? No hit the other day, now this @MiLB: BREAKING: @MarcusallenK of @DunedinBlueJays singles w/one out in the 7th to break up @TampaYankees no-hit bid. http://t.co/ghJdWSu6TO
