    Santos and Romero for Kinsler?!?!?!?! Done in a nanosecond. f*** me if that was the potential deal and f*** Kinsler and his no trade clause and f*** the Rangers too, LOL Upgrade at 2B, AND dump Romero's salary? Damn that would have been sweet.

The Rangers had targeted Toronto first baseman Edwin Encarnacion early in the offseason and later sent Kinsler to the Detroit Tigers - a team not on his no-trade list - for first baseman Prince Fielder. But the Jays would not move Encarnacion, sources said Santos was part of the Kinsler discussions, as was left-hander Ricky Romero, according to one source. The Rangers'€™ goal in such a trade was to clear the remaining $62 million on Kinsler'€™s contract to pursue other moves, that source said.

    Jeff Blair on the air now. He says he KNOWS that the Blue Jays have been speaking with AJ Burnett's agent over the past few days. "I'm not just throwing STUFF against the wall here" he says. I hate the way he puffs himself up but I also believe him here.

    As always, if we find out about this, there were 3-4 other options AA probably considered He actually IS trying to upgrade the starting rotation, and second base, and DH platoon He has obviously just decided that he won't overpay via trade this year If he is going to overpay a bit anywhere I hopes it's for Jiminez. He *should* be able to trade for a legit 2B at reasonable cost.

    Well here's the answer to this puzzle according to Shi Davidi: http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/anthopoulos-addresses-deals-that-couldve-been/ Anderson, dealt in December by the Oakland Athletics to Colorado Rockies for pitcher Drew Pomeranz and prospect Chris Jensen, nearly ended up with the Blue Jays in exchange for Sergio Santos. But those talks fell apart due to concern over Anderson’s injury risk.

    I actually read most of the article. Mostly he took previous top 50 prosects who have fallen out of favour for good reason (like Olt) and labelled them "under rated"
