  1. Kinda helps to get pitches 2 feet off the plate.
  2. 1996 called. Hentgen wants his strike zone returned.
  3. Ryu is hard to get on the same page with as a catcher and he likes to get his pitch quick. Kirk has more experience with him than Collins who may not have caught him yet even in bullpens. The bigger question would be why Springer isn't the DH instead of Collins.
  4. Ricky Romero's knees were single handedly responsible for destroying Ricky Romero. Maddon was probably living rent free in his head though.
  5. I have a feeling I probably shouldn't Google that.
  6. I think I like this slightly grumpier version of Charlie. In the past he's let the umps walk over him. This year he's standing up for the team more.
  7. It's a mistake, but in that situation and with the current score it's not really all that terrible. Getting a runner into scoring position there is worth taking some chances. The Chapman mistake last night was far worse.
  8. No one will ever out-do Batista. If it wasn't at least at his eyeballs, he wasn't interested.
  9. I'm going to go with Thomas, Henley, Pereira, Hatton, Hadwin, and Brown
  10. Is "the Yankees have changed their approach" code for "the Yankees figured out how to relay signals"?
  11. Yeah. Anyone except maybe Bauer or Odor would have got a cheer for returning in just about every other stadium.
  12. Looks like it's just a cut. Could have been a hell of a lot worse.
  13. FFS umps! (not to mention it was a strike if it wasn't tipped)
  14. It didn't hit the top, but hit some area behind the fence. It also depends on the stadium, as some have unique rules.
  15. Home Run. Maybe a slight assist from the outfielder.
  16. Something like that.
  17. This Clippers and Timberwolves game has a bit of everything. First a fan tries to superglue themselves to the playing surface. Now the ref calls a double technical, realizes one of the players already had one, and changed it to just a technical on the other player (which was Beverley, and he deserved it, but still).
  18. I've often wondered if that facial hair policy is even legal. If a player just grew one anyway, I don't think the Yankees could legally suspend them. They could bench them (would probably cause all kinds of hell to be raised by the PA) or trade them, but I'm not sure they could do anything else.
  19. WTF was Teoscar doing out there? FFS, hustle after the ball! At least the Yankees countered one bad play with one of their own. Kikuchi has a horseshoe up his ass this inning.
  20. Actual results seem to invalidate this opinion.
  21. I'll add one. The Jays will sweep the season series against one of their ALE opponents, and it won't be the O's.
  22. I usually just try to avoid using them at all, but sometimes you really can't. Half the people seem to be offended if you don't use them because they see it as being rude. The other half are offended if you do use them.
