  1. How crazy is it that 10 of the 15 American League teams are under .500 (with 2 more one game over)?
  2. Bringing Clement in there was absolutely the right move. Too bad it didn't work out.
  3. Atkins came in for the 2016 draft, didn't he? That means Bichette and Langeliers (didn't sign) as well. Barger in 2018. Manoah in 2019 (He put up 5.9 WAR in 1.5 years before he self-destructed). Martin in 2020. He's starting to look pretty good in the majors. Kasevich in 2022 (and Fluharty) Nimmala in 2023 Yesavage in 2024 (and King) Parker in 2025 He certainly whiffed on a good number in general as that's a pretty thin list.
  4. I'll reserve judgement until I see some to watch.
  5. If we're not going to play Schneider at 2nd, we really need to call up Kasevich or something. Sosa is NOT the answer.
  6. I'll take Vladdy. He's good and due.
  7. Was someone saying something about Varsho's defense earlier?
  8. Extra innings with the Ray's speed and bunting ability starting on 2nd base isn't ideal.
  9. I feel like this is too much busy managing. I really don't see the reason to pinch hit Pinango for Straw there.
  10. At least he's done through 5. Facing the bullpen can't be any worse.
  11. Last year in April Vladdy had a 116 wRC+ with a .268/.362/.402 slash line and 3 HR. In April 2024 he had a 100 wRC+ with a .226/.331/.347 slash line with 3 HR. In the other recent years when he's hit okay in April (2026, 2023, 2022), he's had a rough May. The good news is that Vladdy is a career 154 wRC+ in June, his best career month.
  12. You know who else is struggling to start the year? Ohtani (at least with the bat). It happens. Vladdy has been a slow starter the last few years, it's just magnified when the rest of the team is also cold.
  13. He had zero chance of getting him at the plate, and it risks the ball getting away and moving another guy into scoring postion. It was the right decision.
  14. Valenzuela is not having a good game. You can't be making those mistakes.
  15. With Simpson's speed, he's probaby on 2nd if Gimenez doesn't knock that ground ball down.
  16. May 5th @ Tampa vs RHP Drew Rasmussen Springer (2) - Pinango (5)- Jonn Okamoto (2) Jesus (3) Sosa (4) Varsho (2) Clement (5) - Abomination Gimenez (5) Valenzuela (4) Bench (10) - mphenhef
  17. It's anyone's guess. They could also option Schneider, although that doesn't help with the righty lefty balance. My preference would be for them to DFA Sosa but I'm not sure that will happen yet. They could also option Fluharty when they have to get one of the pitchers back on the roster, which might be sooner than later.
