  1. Lind was grabbing his back a little after stopping at 3rd. It's clearly barking a bit.
  2. Comerica is a hitter's park just like the AL East parks. Miggy would probably get very little advantage. Angel stadium definitely isn't though.
  3. Hearing that the Yankees can be eliminated from playoff contention tonight makes me so happy I don't even care about that home run to tie the game!
  4. You have to wonder what would happen if a team took two groups of 5 relievers, and had them each pitch 2 innings every other game.
  5. Make it a true balanced schedule, but play teams outside your division early in the season and division games late to increase the rivalry and intensity going into the playoffs. It would also mean more travel early when players are fresher, and less travel late when they tire through August.
  6. Trying to think of a DH with less power than Noodle ...
  7. The problem is that MVP really isn't properly defined (which is probably intentional). You may believe the most valuable player should be in relation to their team, while others may believe it's the person who makes the biggest impact with the fans (such as Miggy's triple crown chase) or the person who has the best statistical season (Trout with WAR last year). The thing is, everyone is right.
  8. A lot will probably depend on this off-season. If they brought someone like Halladay back or something (perhaps less likely since he left his last game with issues), it would likely recover some of the excitement from the casual fans that we saw this year early on.
  9. Gose is so smooth out there. He just kind of glides.
  10. One thing we know about Doc is that if he's done, it won't be due to lack of effort to rehab and get back. With his work effort, I don't think you can ever rule him out.
  11. Goody ... 1 pitch, 2 commercial breaks. I'd really like to see a rule that pitchers have to face at least 3 batters (or the end of the inning) before they can be lifted.
  12. Just when we thought the lineup couldn't get any worse...
  13. Atlanta would have to completely lose their minds to accept a deal like that.
  14. Everyone wants AA to throw Arencibia under the bus, but right now he can't. If he does that, no other free agent would ever want to come here to play. The best way to deal with the catching situation is to do it in the off-season quietly. If you were someone like McCann or Ruiz for example, would you want to come here if the catcher you are replacing just got destroyed by the team in the media? I think the fact that AA doesn't mention anything about JPA is probably just as noteworthy as anything else, because he talked positively about most of the other position players.
  15. The article is hardly as bad as people are making it out to be.
  16. These were funny as hell, thanks for posting them. Clearly the Jays have to step up their game though, the other teams did a much better job of it. Wish I knew why a few of them had those costumes picked though, because I must be missing a few of the references aside from the mustard.
  17. I'd be upset with all of this myself if it wasn't for JPA's antics recently with Zaun and Hayhurst, among other things. Right now I think he's getting exactly what he deserves.
  18. I'd say do more of the one-panels like that joke one rather than video.
  19. That really IS good. Fantastic job! Juiced should add a section to the website for stuff like that too.
  20. The Rays have already gone through 8 position players and 11 pitchers in that game. There really should be some kind of rule in September that you can only pick 25 players each game who can actually PLAY in the game that day.
  21. Effort to do what? He had no chance of scoring, so he got into the rundown long enough for Sierra and DeRosa to advance. That's his job there.
  22. Pillar didn't do anything wrong there
  23. This is just not our night
  24. Oops, it was Gose after all!
  25. Not a great throw by Gose either (although better than some we've been seeing the last few months from outfielders).
