    For whatever it's worth, Osuna has basically been equal to Miller this year, and may still have more upside than what he's already shown. Miller had what, 2.5 years of control for ~23M? I'm not sure what Osuna makes in his final arbitration year, but it's probably not too different for 3.5 years of control. Plus, Washington doesn't need to add payroll this year to get him, which may allow them to add someone else at the deadline as well. Frazier was in AAA when he was traded (although just promoted), which makes him a little less risky, and Sheffield was a top 100 prospect as well. As good a prospect as Robles is, he is in A+, and probably only has average power potential, although that might play up a bit due to great hand eye. I can certainly understand why the Nats wouldn't want to do the trade, but my point was that I think it's a reasonable and fair one to make, for both teams considering where they are and what their needs are.

    I don't really see anything in Tulo's stats to indicate he won't turn it around. One of the things that jump out at me is the slider. He's always been a pretty good slider hitter, and this year (SSS mind you), he's been awful. He's not pulling the ball as much either, which is probably causing the drop in his hard hit %.

    I think you'd find very few people share that view. Both are very good prospects though.

    Robles for Osuna would probably be a good move for both teams. Happ to the Brewers for Corey Ray would be a nice fit too.

    Which front offices probably won't care at all about, unless there's a physical problem that changes his projection.

    Pretty sure it would be us that would have to sweeten.

    There had to have been a few teams interested in him. We're probably paying half of his remaining contract this year, or something like that. That probably lays to rest any speculation about whether we're looking to sell right now or not, although ultimately I guess he'd be easy to move at the deadline regardless.

    I really like the idea of dealing Osuna. Teams would control him for another 3.5 years, and he's demonstrated he's in one of the top tiers of closers (step behind a Kimbrel / Chapman class). Given his age, team control, and salary, he should bring in two blue chip prospects on the MLB bubble at the very least imo. I'll take a high end position player prospect over a guy who only pitches one inning with a lead any day.

    How many of the Red Sox hits today have been opposite field? If you see guys with that approach, stop pitching them away.

    If you're bunting and stealing in a blowout, then it's a problem. In a closer game, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. The Red Sox are and should be doing everything they can to win the game, and unfortunately we're not adapting to it.

    We have some decent youth in the rotation, and probably enough young players coming up in the next few years that a full rebuild likely isn't necessary. We have the budget to fill in the holes with free agency.

    The good thing is, we're only 4.5 out of the second wildcard (and 7.5 back in the division if we win today). That's is definitely recoverable. As poorly as we've played, we certainly aren't alone. The bad thing is, we look like s*** right now. We deserve to be losing these games.

    A double manager ejection? Don't think I've seen that before. Roberts bumped the ump too, he'll probably get a few games.

    It's the two biggest issues with websites today, clickbait and an overabundance of ads. Many websites are in fact breaking Google's rules about ad volume. I opened up Fangraphs the other day on a computer where I don't have an adblocker installed. The site was almost unusable. Hell, you close some of their ads, and another automatically appears (not supposed to happen).

    I wasn't paying close enough attention to see who the source was. Just had it on in the background and happened to glance over. It makes some sense though.

    I'll either be cutting or calling up Appel, and probably calling up Joe Jimenez if I don't trade one of the picks. When do we have to decide by? Also, Panik and Cecil are very available if anyone has interest.
