  1. They didn't need the premium to make the contract untradable.
  2. Man his stuff is nasty today. The movement is just absurd.
  3. Pitchers should know by now that pissing our hitters off doesn't end well.
  4. I'm not even sure Smoak is overachieving. He's cut down his swing, which has dramatically improved his contact rate. It's not like his season has been babip fueled.
  5. Infield hits, bloops, and blasts. Pretty effective formula so far.
  6. He was born in Canada I think. He should be eligible.
  7. I would. He fits a big need we have on the team right now (and he's basically ready), and adds a ton of speed on top of good power.
  8. I wonder if the Tigers would swap him and Verlander? They'd save some money assuming Verlander's last year becomes guaranteed, and might have an easier time moving Tulo's contract later if they chose to considering Tulo's reasonable final year. Verlander would be an upgrade to our rotation, even with his struggles.
  9. Actually, you'd be taking the lead from the BBDL. You know you want you
  10. True, but in real life teams have some control over that. You're at the mercy of both other parties, and have no say in it. The viewpoint is totally valid though.
  11. Twelve. Fourteen is only for the spring cutdown.
  12. You'd be better off proposing to move the draft date until after the signing period. You could still draft those players then (in this league), but at least you'd know what you were getting into.
  13. The Yankees really didn't blow it up though. They retooled, which is what likely happens with us (maybe not with the same results)
  14. Just drop him, and a commish can add him to kingfiller tonight.
  15. No, he added him as a FA. He dropped Pillar to make room.
  16. Yep, looks like one of the commissioners dropped him when processing the trade, and forgot to add him to KingFiller's roster. Obviously he belongs to them, but not Jim's fault.
  17. The MiLB and pick parts of last nights trades also need to be processed when you guys get time. No rush though.
  18. You'd think he'd be #1 by the end of the year, but the White Sox are sure taking their time promoting Moncada. Probably correctly so, but I'm not so sure that they won't just leave him down there this year.
  19. Quite likely, but they may not all equally. It seems like more than just a coincidence. It also seems like league wide, the fastball movement hasn't changed as much (but the slider sure has). It could be the particular pitchers we have in our division that are mostly responsible for it.
  20. He really does, but I'm currently getting my money's worth lol.
  21. Certainly he's past his prime, but I'm not sure that's the main driving factor. I don't have home/road splits on pitches for when he was in Coors to know how much that played into it, but there's some really interesting numbers from the past few years. Tulo typically has murdered the fastball. Since 2009, the years he's had the most trouble have all coincided with fairly large increases in fastball movement he's faced, with this year having by far the most vertical AND horizontal movement yet. Similarly with the slider, there's also a sharp change in movement this year, and Tulo's numbers versus it have dropped drastically. I haven't dived into it far enough to do a proper analysis, but I did find it really interesting.
  22. Yep. Things aren't in balance if I don't have at least one.
  23. As an added bonus to this trade, I no longer have to cut Appel!
  24. Tucker and Robert (or whoever you decide on) could be a really nice score in the end. Rendon fits in really nicely for my team, which I'm hoping starts competing next year.
