  1. Your timing sucks lol.
  2. No, if you can get a young stud they might help close to just as much, and you'd free up 20M to use on the FA market on top of that. Still, it really is a tough call to make.
  3. Maybe not even that. If they feel Guerrero is ready, they might just take the pick and be happy. Assuming they really do think we'll compete next year, then I can't see him traded either. It'll be interesting to see. They could also potentially get a bridge guy for a year (like Beltre if he's still good then?)
  4. Possibly neither.
  5. Well, at least they're solo shots.
  6. I'd be interested in Buxton and/or Smyly, if I can figure out how to protect them.
  7. Yeah, if he's mostly free, he could be worth taking a shot on, or holding and hoping. That career 95 wRC+ away from Coors is a major issue if he's leaving Coors though.
  8. That would be ideal, but I'm not expecting it for next year.
  9. Zobrist would be a nice fit. I could see the Cubs perhaps having the depth to want to free up the money too.
  10. Nothing wrong with leaving him down in AA for the rest of the season. No reason to rush him. Let him start next year in AAA, and he's an injury away from being called up.
  11. Vargas more than makes up for any bad luck you've had with Kennedy.
  12. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/gotta-see-little-leaguer-hits-grand-slam-trees/ Perfect timing by the announcers!
  13. Even if he doesn't, he could veto the claim.
  14. People would likely be demanding his firing after the first inning.
  15. Add Otani and JD Martinez, and it looks a little more viable for next year too.
  16. Currently looking to trade Lorenzen (holds), Cecil (holds), Casilla (saves), one of Bonifacio (the good one) or Renfroe. Biggest need (not necessarily tied to the guys above): Long term, good catcher. Also, it's always good to send me a good SP you want me to ruin.
  17. Lol, just the way they drew it up!
  18. 5 started or 10 appearances. You can go to players -> position eligibility to see it.
  19. Garcia was right out instantly. Kinda rough not to call that a catch.
  20. Phillies had one starter's arm turn to hamburger meat, and another that probably couldn't digest any.
  21. Hopefully turned him into JD Martinez
  22. I would expect more along the lines of Pillar, Hernandez/Pearce, and a FA. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Aoki move in August to a contender.
  23. Well, Stroman has two extra years of control also. Those matter (a lot). I'm not particularly fond of the return given the injury concerns all around, but there is some pretty significant upside in the package. Oakland could do very well with it. If they had waited until the offseason or next trade deadline, it's highly unlikely they would have done any better. edited: Hmm, I thought Gray was a free agent after 2018 for some reason.
  24. I'm not even opposed to him as a starter, on a one year deal (but obviously at much less than he's making this year). We really, really need at least one solid to high end SP this offseason, and there aren't many really good options. Arrieta, Darvish, and Otani are probably the big three (I don't think Tanaka will opt out). A guy like Estrada or Liriano would make a good 5th starter.
  25. Makes sense to wait until September, or if a trade is made in August. I could actually see Aoki traded later in the year if a contender has an injury and wants a fundamentally sound bench bat with some experience.
