    We do play a number of teams we're chasing during that time period, we're 3.5 back of a wildcard, and some of the teams we're chasing play each other too. I'm pretty comfortable in saying that if we went on a 20 game streak, we'd probably have a few games lead in the first wildcard position.

    Even if he's claimed, I think we should hold out for actual value. His value to us the remainder of the season (viewership, plus the unlikely chance of actually still making a run) is probably worth more than his remaining salary is.

    Judge has put up a 75 wRC+ since the ASG. A lot of pitchers have made him their bitch since then. His walk rate since has still been stellar though.

    His changeup(s) are so ridiculously nasty. It would be great if he could teach them to Stroman and Sanchez.

    I think I read somewhere that it's some kind of charity event. The jerseys will be auctioned off afterwards for every player in the league.

    Maybe some of the other arms aren't available tonight, or were only available for a few pitches due to recent overwork. We've seen people complain about moves before, only to find similar reasons in the past. What I don't like is taking basically a starter in the minors, then having them debut in the majors in relief. You're asking them to do something they aren't used to, while in a different environment to boot.

    A lesser (but still decent) prospect straight up probably gets it done. However, sometimes it's better to overpay a little and be sure you get the guy you want, rather than regret it for years imo.

    Pretty clear there's no collusion here. That's a very hefty price to pay though.

    It may just be SSS, but it really seems like Goins simplifies things when there are runners on. Doesn't try to overswing, just puts the bat on the ball. He needs to do that when there's no one on. Become an opposite field slap hitter essentially.

    It's kinda nice having a bench bat that throws to the right base, and doesn't run into extra outs.
