  1. Having Dermody figure it out over the next month, to go with some of the other arms we've found and brought up this year, could be massive for our pen next year. Very good AND very cheap.
  2. Don't think it would help him any, and frankly, the losses are probably better for us this year anyway. I think it's more pitch selection than anything the relegation would help.
  3. I've heard of falling off the mound with the follow through, but Santos almost fell right off the field in that strikeout.
  4. He's also 8th in xFIP and 4th in WAR among qualifying relievers. Someone would pay a boatload for him.
  5. I've said this for quite a while. He could probably fetch a very, very good prospect or two that are MLB ready.
  6. The ump must want to get out of Boston with his head still attached. What a horrible call.
  7. Okay, let's take it to the next logical step. Let's say they embedded a little speaker in the helmet, and the TV crew relayed exactly what pitch was coming to the batter? I mean, that's a step further, but it's the same line of thinking. As I said, the player at 2nd relaying the pitch to the batter is one thing, but using other people not on the field to do it is quite another.
  8. There should absolutely be a fairly significant penalty for this. I don't care if the player at 2nd relays signs to the hitter, that's fair game imo. But using non-players to relay it is way too far, especially when you start talking about the replay operators or TV networks.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised to see both start in AA, given how well they've handled things so far. Teams would normally let them get 30 or 40 games at the same level the next year likely before moving them up, but I'm not sure it'll happen in this case.
  10. Yahoo has fixed their StatTracker! No more buggy flash code that didn't load!
  11. Sosa didn't. McGwire did a few times.
  12. I wonder how many other guys have had both more home runs AND more walks than singles in a season? Bonds did it in 2001.
  13. Maybe. Gallo might have something to say about it too though.
  14. The only thing I really don't like is when they rail on advanced stats, while clearly not understanding them. Otherwise, I'd take them any day over some of the announcers on other teams. Some of them will talk about other stuff for entire innings while completely ignoring the game.
  15. He's from Texas, isn't he? Could definitely be something bad from the flooding.
  16. No, I don't (not edit access)
  17. They do indeed.
  18. Yeah, it's under general settings.
  19. Glad they weren't stupid enough to give him a pitch. There could be a small fracture or something.
  20. I think most of us in the league are basically casual when it comes to hockey.
  21. The Malkin fantasy curse!
