  1. Don't think so. Well, his pride maybe.
  2. Serge with 20 points, Lowry with 9 assists lol. Too bad they'll probably sit for half the game.
  3. Kawhi who? Man the Raps look smooth tonight.
  4. Complaining about it and doing nothing seems kind of beta...
  5. Well, pretty damn close. It's also assuming a fairly steep age regression from what I can tell, which if his health improves is likely to be more than cancelled out. I stand by my opinion that it's a good deal for LA and a bad one for Kershaw, unless Kershaw knows something catastrophic about his health that we don't.
  6. I pity the team that gives either of those guys that kind of contract. Unless it's Boston or New York. f*** them. I'd maybe be okay with 2/22 for Cahill if the second year is vesting based on innings pitched (say 150+).
  7. Plus incentives apparently. I'm not too high on this from Kershaw's perspective, unless the incentives are fairly significant. Maybe the market just isn't there for him after some health issues the last few years, but I feel like hitting the market as the best SP in a weak FA year could have netted him an extra 4 years at 25M / year above what he got. Maybe he ends up getting that anyway, but a major injury could cost him a ton. From the Dodgers perspective, this makes a lot of sense imo. They don't want him to leave this offseason while they're in the middle of an elite compete phase, and they probably don't want to pay him many additional years in case he's about to break down. This couldn't have worked out much better for them.
  8. What are we at, 34 now with Tulo and Drury to add? I find it hard to see Maile sticking around, nor Jonathan Davis. I wouldn't be surprised to see Giles traded. Leiter could be a bubble guy, although I think he does hold some potential (and with our staff we may need multiple long relievers).
  9. I find it hard seeing him not earning that contract. He'll probably average in the 4 WAR range for the next 3 years, more if he sorts his back out.
  10. They're projecting him to have the highest batting average too. I mean, I think Vladdy is gonna be great, but that's a little absurd for a guy who hasn't played a game yet. I also have doubts about positive defensive value.
  11. I haven't watched much NFL in the past, but what the Raiders are doing offensively this game is hilariously bad.
  12. Erasmo Ramirez would make for an interesting waiver claim.
  13. He really hasn't gotten much of a chance versus lefties since the Dodgers use platoons so much, so he might be able to improve that somewhat. He definitely is a bit streaky. When you look at the numbers though, you're talking about a guy who has put up 3.1 WAR, 3.6 WAR, 0.6 WAR, and 2.7 WAR in strong side platoon playing time. He's drastically cut down on the strikeouts (19.2% last year), has a great walk rate, power, and plays probably slightly above average defense if he's not in CF. With the Dodgers now having Kiki, I could see a Giles for Joc swap not being unreasonable. Trade Pillar, move Grichuk to CF, Joc to RF.
  14. Couldn't resist the setup.
  15. I guess this is the right night for horror.
  16. Lol, hard to refute that. I'm sure all the teams in the postseason were probably cheating, but I'm not surprised Boston would be after they got caught last year with the watch controversy. I doubt they stopped, just got better at not getting caught.
  17. I'd love to know if the big defensive decline is an aberration or the new norm. That said, this seems like a decent year to go after a big bat, with next offseason a good one for picking up an ace. Dozier is interesting this offseason, coming off that bad second half. He doesn't fit our needs, but I feel like someone is going to get a bargain there.
  18. Joc Pederson would be a better target imo.
  19. In this case, blame the source: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/transactions/?tcid=mm_mlb_news#month=10&year=2018
  20. He's a good shooter. If they're gonna leave him THAT wide open, he may as well take it. I don't want to see him throwing up contested ones though.
  21. I feel like you either have to do what is currently done, allowing nothing, or you have to allow everything that doesn't leave substance behind on the ball. My personal feeling is that it's easier just to allow it, which puts everyone on an even footing. One other thing I noticed in the playoffs, I don't really recall seeing bats breaking.
  22. The problem is, if you create a legal substance that's not the best available, people will use other ones covertly and it would be pretty much impossible to prove. You'd have to scrape some off their fingers and send it to a lab or something.
  23. Well, part of the argument is that with pitchers throwing harder and the balls supposedly slicker, you want to reduce the number of hit batters. You want to have more balls put in play, revert the changes to the ball so everyone isn't hitting everything out of the park anymore. That will force people to move once again to more of a strikeout is bad approach (at least with non-elite players).

I'll give my opinion in about 5 hours.
  25. They could just simply allow you to use any substance to increase your grip, as long as it didn't leave something disgusting on the ball (or something dangerous that could hurt a fan who gets a foul ball).
