  1. Don't know when he was added to the 40 man, but I somehow doubt that. If he does I think they would have added him earlier than this
  2. I think McGowan has be moved up prior to when Oliver is expected back
  3. In Neil Wagner's career he's never pitched in a win for his team (0-6) Is this a bad omen? If it does happen does that make Jonn the new ECJF?
  4. so if the plan was to DFA Perez after this game...do they still do it?
  5. Don't think Gibbons has the balls to let a reliever hit.
  6. Jays only +2.65. I really thought the odds would be considerably higher.
  7. Tomorrow. They will play a player short today and then move a BP piece soon (as I said probably tomorrow)
  8. Anyone really good with animation. They should play around with Arash Madani interviewing the parrot and repeating everything Kawasaki says.
  9. Jays should embrace this and have a name Edwin's parrot contest and have a parrot giveaway day
  10. That's not true at all. He can hit, his running is probably average. It's still not worth calling him up IMO.
  11. Kipnis is still available. I want a top 15ish OF for him though (regardless of age), None of these average OF's that are putting up just slightly better numbers than my incredibly underachieving OF. I'd like to point out that among the 9 players on pace to go 25 & 25, Kipnis is the only one that is an infielder and available (I say this confidently as the other two IF'ers are mine and not available). If you are in need of a 2B that even in his struggles is putting up counting stats, then pony up a first 3 round OF.
  12. Ah the last 5 WAR reliever we'll probably ever see. You do have to keep in mind that there were 60 less pitchers in the majors back then and the assets were in the $100K range not $10M. I still don't know how he'd pitch for the 3rd time in 4 days and go more than 3 innings but in this social media age managers would be torn apart. It's not going to go back to that direction though, in the same way Starters aren't going to go 300 innings ever again.

Torts fired...I'm guessing Lindy Ruff to the Rangers
  14. Maybe it's time to stop considering him a franchise player. My issue with Lawrie prior to his call-up was that if his D wasn't good enough to stick at 3B, his bat wasn't good enough to play at a corner OF spot. That still holds very true, luckily the D is not just good enough to stick it's very good. People have to stop looking for him to have a David Wright bat. His bat is better than what it is performing but it's not an all-star bat and I don't believe it ever will be. Time to start viewing him as a defense first 3B (who happens to play hard and will get injured often), no matter how he is portrayed to us.
  15. That's completely ignoring the huge fact that it's two roster spots. Having a straight Rajai/Snider platoon would mean that Rasmus plays against all lefties. Believe me I love the platoon but to say that a Rajai/Snider platoon is equal to Cabrera is a big argument against that as a viable option.
  16. That is most likely scenario...don't think the McGowan moves comes until closer to the June 11th date when he has to be moved up
  17. He's a hard throwing guy that was given a chance in 2011 with the A's. Didn't really do much. He's spent 6 years in AA and AAA. He's always thrown hard, he gets K's but he's always been very hittable and walks an average amount. In three seasons in AAA he's given up more than a hit an inning. Suddenly this year he's 4.4 hits/9 while giving up a 34% line drive rate. In other words he's survived this year on guys hitting it right to people. Fun Neil Wagner fact...in 6 Major League appearances, he's yet to pitch in a win.
  18. It's just for a day or two. Someone gets moved after the Rogers start today. I just hope they these guys into blowouts and actually properly use them. Guys like Perez are around to save the pen...pitch the old bastard until his arm falls off if they Jays are down a bunch
  19. ... It's September, just as it always has been
  20. Juan Perez gets "will be DFA'd when McGowan is forced back on to the roster spot". Wagner stands a chance to stick for a while, but they are relievers and if they have one bad outing they will be done.
  21. I see him being much more Miguel Montero with the bat rather than sub Lucroy.
