  1. that's not going to happen in 3 months though. If you are going to trade him he's got just as much value in the off season as now (barring a major injury as I stated in my original post). Jays aren't going to trade Bautista in the off season either so it's a moot point anyway.
  2. He's making $13.75 right now. If they think he's worth that now, they won't have much issue paying him it next year.
  3. I've hated Johnson for years you f***in' tool and was opposed to him since day 1 of the deal. I argued that his peripherals point towards him improving...while I'd rather not have to deal with him, if he's on this team you have to offer him the qualifying offer. I don't flip flop very often and certainly haven't in this case. As for the second part, it's possible I get all you trolls mixed up.
  4. Not really, I would have preferred trading him today and not worried about dealing with it. You still think no pitcher who's been as bad as Johnson has never been given $14M?
  5. If you aren't going to have a good team, you may as well have a profitable one.
  6. over/under on when the O's release Norris? I'd say that is one of the worst possible locations for him. Lefties kill him, lefties kill that park. I'll say by June next year he'll see time in the minors
  7. They supposedly call the Marlins every week about Stanton, no way that they aren't offering Profar in that one.
  8. Bautista's value isn't going down without a major injury. Not to mention there would be so much negative backlash for this team from the casuals.
  9. We took some calls, but no one offered us anything that we felt could bring this team to the next level whether that is this year or next. We still believe in this team moving forward... You don't need to listen now
  10. Oliver will still be dealt. He can be easily be a post waiver trade guy
  11. the good news is that he's got rid of everyone in the minors that would have to be added to the 40 man this year. He'd hate to have to lose a pitcher to add one to the forty man. Even if he was good at building a 25 man roster, he'd be's awful at building a full system.
  12. I, and many others, started saying that last year. At that time it was time to hope that they luck their way into a playoff spot, now that would be the worst thing that will happen. The non moves at this deadline is to avoid trading a likable player like Cecil or Delabar...this is a public optics F.O.
  13. and will have like 30 pitchers on the 40 man
  14. it's funny how many posters have said the jays won't do a thing...but now are upset that they aren't doing a thing
  15. Kennedy and Peavy
  16. that package kills the Padres package IMO
  17. 13 of his 18 HR's given up have been on the road this year though. Last year it was almost an equal split and in his great 2011 season he was much better at home. A guy that gives up HR's and is an extreme fly ball guy (8th worst GB/FB this year) would probably be really bad at Rogers but when the cost is nothing and the guy he's replacing is garbage...probably worth it.
  18. that trade is going to look even worse as I'm sure he'll put up really good numbers in San Diego. The D-Backs are huge on character and I've heard that Kennedy doesn't fit in there...someone was going to rob them blind.
  19. Even Cameron understands
  20. Jake Thompson
  21. who needs a good OF...I've ran with the worst OF in the league all season. I might have some Choo interest, but a temp 1B is my biggest priority right now.
  22. I suppose, I just read that it's late August possibly for his return. Gives options to the team which I suppose is never bad. They will have 4 final year of their contract starters next year.
  23. it's a good thing that Peavy cost the Red Sox little cause I thought them trading for him was pretty stupid anyway. When Buchholz is back he replaces Doubront who has outpitched Peavy all season (Dempster makes more sense to go to the pen but I don't think they will do that to a veteran starter). It's not like Peavy sees a start in the playoffs should they get there. got to say that the White Sox got the best name in the trade with Cleuluis Rondon...and I thought the Jays had the market on the clueless players covered.
  24. Orphaned at such a young age... damn you I had a great follow up story
  25. I know you are most likely not a board veteran but I thought I'd let you know that you're crossing lines here...this man's mother was killed getting him out of Cuba. He's a captain not of industry but of causes for his people. Have some respect
