  1. Maybe not for the 3 that are going to be given 50+ starts facing 18 batters a game. That's 900 batters faced which is top 10 last year.
  2. It would be interesting...not exactly fan friendly though (imagine the rage when you pull your starter in the 5th when he hasn't given up a run). Just today after watching Collmenter look so good through 5 and then Dee Gordon starts it off in the 6th (actually with 1 out in the 6th) on his 3 time facing him. I decided to look up Collmenter's numbers 1st, 2nd and 3rd time through. and maybe it's similar for most pitchers (it's not something I look up often) but he was 59 tOPS+ first time through and then 150 2nd time (part of the reason he should be a reliever)
  3. Exams this week...followed by 7 straight days of 12 hour workdays so I'll be ignoring/skimming all emails that don't jump out as someone losing their mind and offering me Harper or Trout. But with that said...I've got a guy on my bench that is ripping the s*** out of the ball (Mesoraco) and three 3B eligible players (Longoria, Seager and Santana). I already knew i was a borderline team, and my horrid start won't help. So chances are in May I'll be making a decision to get younger/more upside. Be thinking about deals.
  4. it's okay to just call me the most knowledgeable prospect guy anywhere. It won't hurt your nerd cred. I also still take Bryant over Baez and Correa.
  5. but bullpens going more often would probably leave them more familiar to batters too.
  6. Anyone want to take the Sano side of my Bryant over Sano now? Every so often the old guy might be right. Actually I'm still hoping that Bryant can show some improvements on the K-Rates though
  7. I just assume this is the Kalfus thread under a new name
  8. For the record (just in case there is anyone actually listening to this guy) the Mick had a .790 OPS as a 19 year old, he was just built up to be greater than life, so the media did portray him as "struggling"...especially after hitting 9 HR's in spring. His struggles that made him call his Dad to say he'd be coming home (to a Dad who was dying) were in KC in early 1951 and he hit .361/.445/.650 in 166 PA's so I'm not sure how bad these struggles could have been.
  9. don't ever make me come to this thread again....
  10. Only contract I know is for sure insured is Bautista. Usually only the bigger long term contracts are insured. A young pitcher with a history of injuries insurance costs 5% of their salary...hitters are like 2%. Players have to miss at least 60 days (straight I believe) for most insurance policies to kick in, and then there are usually provisions about previously injured body parts.
  11. .786 for Hech vs. .378 for Goins. What was the bet for Hech doubling him up through three weeks?
  12. Not sure if this was posted. Delino Jr. after getting hit with a fastball
  13. meh...his future was and is in his D and speed. Not like that needs that much maturity.
  14. Honestly I'm shocked that Aaron was that good at that age
  15. ...and his UCL separates as the "post reply" was pressed. I decided to look up if Buehrle has ever had a better 4 game stretch and while he had a great stretch in 2005 and 2001 this is in the top 3 or 4. Pretty impressive.
  16. that was probably his worst pitch of the inning. Still a bad pitch up in the zone...Brantley should have left the bat on the shoulder
  17. pretty sure they just said throw sliders. I'm taking until 2 strikes if I'm Brantley
  18. You've said some pretty dumb things Ang...but that one is up there
  19. walk, 3 run shot or a K. No other possible outcome here
  20. watching a few Indians games this year I'm not sure I agree. Bourn is (or used to be) a great bunter and is swinging a bat like a pitcher right now. Pinch hit and swing away yes...but if Bourn is in bunting isn't the worst play there
  21. I like Kipnis in this matchup right now...so I expect 3 pitch K
  22. As for Thornton...he'll probably never match cost of his size 17 shoes in value.
  23. 5 win platoon. Gaby should never see a righty starter and Davis not a lefty starter or reliever.
  24. I prefer to keep it simple http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/85/Garden_bench_001.jpg
