  1. My Asian Culture considers the number 24 bad luck. Had to move it.
  2. MLB owners have $752M floor value if they sell their shares in Disney Streaming Services in 2022. It's going to be a hard year on them.
  3. thinking about Biggio?

And not just because it was your High School nickname
  5. Buy-in and Dynasty just don't go together. Multi year rebuilds are no longer worth it but so many Dynasty players love them.
  6. You should have just countered my offer. Good dealing with you....I'm always here to overpay for a one pick upgrade.
  7. Everyone loves a first time draft and it's been so long for one. Dump BBDL and do a Hitters only league.
  8. It always meant 25 year olds and older. There is more stress on the older now.
  9. Recent birthday wish posts about Bauer have pretty much drawn zero anti-bauer responses. Pretty sure he'll be back in 2022.
  10. IBEW isn't going to look out for students in Electricians programs. Only make sure that they are funded well enough that they are still attended. It's not their job to look out for non-members. What MLBPA should have done is had a pressence when the media was all on the MiLB salary train. The PA is awful at the public perception piece in their jobs.
  11. One of the biggest misconceptions is that the Commissioner job is about bettering baseball. It's about the interests of the Commissioners 30 employers. I was a Manfred supporter at one time because he would actually talk that baseball's future is not shiny. But he's let the entire public narrative be that baseball is s***** and hasn't made a significant change. The owners loved him when he won the 2016 CBA for them so clearly. If he doesn't win this one the Owners will pretty much use him to push for whatever changes they really want and blame him for ruining baseball and bring in some new lackey to be the saviour.
  12. The entire $250M is going to be used to remove the foul odor from Beest's former office. I know they have talked about the concourse being a priority a couple years ago...but opening it up will be so difficult. Better connections to the upper and lower decks is what Cleveland is starting this off season, would that even be possible in Toronto? You can guarantee that there will be some sort of higher end baseball "experience" created from an upgrade. Boxes are boring now, you need white linen experiences (Toronto is L.A. jr. now)
  13. I can respect those that face the public and explain themselves. However he put it on his socials and then puts the response behind a paywall, never replying after. I must say that in this era where clicks and views are $$$...it is beneficial for these writers to have a controversial ballot. The MLB should monetize the ballot process. Have each voter on the MLB network to reveal their list and then face questions from the fans and media.
  14. Then writes an article behind a paywall to defend it by pretty much saying Ortiz and Sheffield didn't hurt the game
  15. Now MLB just has to figure out how to get 200 or so players like that starting for each team.
  16. Way is subjective. Plus I have a young heart It is sitting in a child in a third world country waiting for when I need it.
  17. It's a very interesting case study that someone smarter than me should do. I don't know what a standard ad contract looks like but I have had a conversation with one of the top guys at Sportsnet. There are a bunch of rates based on time, day of the week, but after a certain time they are "poker" rate. So if shortened to 7 inning games can generate more viewers (long term hope of doing it) and they can make more revenue in the shorter time it would still work. I do think the 7 inning game is many years away but will be experimented with somewhere soon.
  18. speedy defensive subs who can't hit a lick is what you end up with. Everyone loves a good defensive play...but those guys don't sell tickets or up viewership.
  19. Baseball's issues will never "magically disappear" IMO. I mean 10 pitchers will mean more walks, more hits, and length of games will not be reduced but it's a better product. The other side is that the PA will never agree to this. For me the biggest thing is that there has to be smarter people at the tables. People who are able to think, if you change this...the smartest front offices will respond by doing ___" Now lets establish how this effects baseball. In the end none of this matters because it's all about maximizing dollars. The first change that should happen which improves the product (to non diehard fans), without effecting $$$ is reduce the game to 7 innings. And the traditional baseball fan shits all over everything. There is no magical solution but current baseball fans, should be removed from consideration. There is not a thing that baseball can do which stops me from watching...so why would I be a thought.
  20. Everyone in both leagues East and Central divisions plus the D-Backs. If someone hasn't by then, I might throw something on over my week off

I'm still up in the air with him...but he was not put into a position to succeed this year. If he had that year in New England I'd be ready to call him a bust.
  23. I think that makes you eligible for a front office job there.
  24. They also had 41 men on the 40 man with the Raley and Kluber signings I don't think they necessarily have to see that much in Kam, they like the value in the bottom end of their 40 man. I have to admit I know nothing about the 3 of the 4 guys they added to the 40 man, but they got watch listed for the LOD draft just cause they are Rays.
  25. it's funny how closely this structure matches the TV deal. 2025 is the first increase. 2027 is when it hits close to $100M Depends on the stadium/city situation. 2028 is the first season in a new city/stadium. If Franco is a top performer, makes it tough to trade him and sell 3 times the tickets.
