  1. The original deal of Manaea for Meso would have been a big enough win for me. I don't think he's a pitcher that a lot of guys (probably you too) believed in though. I still don't know what to make of him. Davis meant that I had to make another deal (which I hate doing). Kopech wasn't a guy I had taking a big step forward. Iglesias was the piece I wanted and now he's going to be part of a closer committee. What's obvious here is that I have zero ability to evaluate talent. I'm intrigued by what the deal would have looked like with you including Turner.
  2. That was the week before my exams and the weekend of Brampton Cup. I said I'd get back to you in two weeks. You said "or you know it's you snooze, you lose"
  3. Here is one of our Meso discussions. with your offers. I was sitting on a Fernandez for Machado offer with Gibbers I think so was stalling for a response. "Devin Mesoraco has resumed squatting" Good news! He can squat! What do you want for him? I have some decent prospect capital. One MLB ready guy I have been dangling is Sean Manaea. Mesoraco + Strickland for Neil Walker + Wily Peralta Meso + Strick + Miley for Iglesias + Billy McKinney + pick 57? Me: Trea Turner instead of McKinney and I don't care about 57 Can't deal Turner here. He's my golden goose. Chris Davis + Raisel Iglesias + Sean Manaea + Willy Adames + Michael Kopech for Jose Fernandez + Devin Mesoraco + Hunter Strickland Me: Sorry to be a pain. I can't go back to multiple average pieces. If I'm trading Fernandez it's to get a a top SS (Machado). If not I'll stick with the plan. I can just drop all my shortstops, and OF's and pick them back up in the waiver draft So Turner being involved doesn't move the needle at all?
  4. Wasn't me this time. I was impressed by the work of whoever it was though so I added a 0
  5. Keep your animal rights commentary to the Off Topic f***ing PETA'er. http://wahsegavalleyfarm.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83519315253ef0176168c0353970c-500wi
  6. I'm not even sure if his arbitration comps will make him worth while to extend him. Defensive first players have never done will in arbitration. Carlos Gomez got $8.4M in his 4 arbitration years.
  7. Yeah locking them up through their arbitration at a guaranteed amount with team options for the 2 years following is pretty low risk as far as extensions go. They also have to be willing to accept it of course.
  8. I like team friendly extensions for hitters. Better be a really good extension for a pitcher. So no real great candidates for the Jays
  9. Especially since half the board doesn't have quote notification clicked on (including myself).

I hate the hype of the U20 Championships. The Alfie number retirement has me with a tear in my eye though.
  11. Jays met with Jose today according to my sources. My sources being a friend that snapped a pic of him walking downtown.
  12. Outside of Ramos has there been any movement in the catching scene? I'm sure there will at least be someone brought in to compete for the job.
  13. This F.O has said many times that you do not need a complete team in March. The best time to make a trade is May. Not optimal but I'm not concerned if they only add small pieces from this point.

IMO for the Raps to end up with the Celts in the playoffs it would mean they were the #1 seed. I don't like the Celts D at all and if the Raps were healthy I really don't see them as a legitimate threat. Both teams healthy I'd give the Raps a 40% chance of winning against the Cavs with home advantage. So my bet is based on that and hoping for a LeBron injury. Raps staying healthy is also not likely and I understand that. Like most bets it's about value.
  15. I love Jaysfan2014. He's what Grant will become if he ever gets Encephalitis from tick bites.

Can find the Raps as high as 8 to 1 to win the East. (6.25-1 on my site). Probably worth a $20-$50 flyer hoping for a Lebron injury or that the Raps steal home advantage. There is no other team in the East that is at all scary.

    Does anyone?
  18. That article is fantastic. Pretty much saying sure we have Brock Holt, Vasquez, Lefty Killer Chris Young, Josh Rutledge, with Swihart, Travis, Allen Craig, Deven Marrero, Rusney Castillo, and Bryce Brentz as bounce back candidates...but after that the cupboard is bare. All 50 days before Pitchers and Catchers report.
  19. Brought in a Mental Skills team, leading to a winning culture.
  20. Exactly. Teams just have to pitch around Betts, Bogaerts, HanRam, maybe Pedroia, Benintendi and JBJ. Then face Moreland, Panda and Leon. No way they are scoring runs.
  21. Looked into Moss...which is growing in Rogers wallet. What the f*** is FanRag Sports, and I can't think of a better place for Heyman
  22. But you get to vacation with people that you would never go on a vacation with. I will say it's still selfish but a destination wedding means no wedding planning...which might be worth paying for your guests to go to the destination wedding.
  23. I'd say that every player is different in their reasoning. There are some players that if they are signing a 3 year or longer deal they like to move to the city they signed with year round. That unfortunately isn't possible with Toronto. Very few athletes I can think of bought homes in Toronto (Vince Carter is one that comes to mind...and he mildly trash talked the city when he left saying that there are no soul food places). Jalen Rose recently stated that no NBA player wants to sign in Toronto as the taxes kill you (he made it seem like his move from Chicago to Toronto cut his pay in half thanks to taxes). As fans we'll never know what the players really think of a city as the David Price's of the world will say positive things about every city they play in. What they say to each other is what really matters.
  24. For asking for a player which appears to be a clear win on their side???
  25. The Darrell's were obviously named after 70's/80's Alpha Darrell Evans
