  1. Just a Donor tag issue. Would love to have him aboard though. My personal speechwriter will be the next position available I believe.
  2. After never having a shortstop (and possibly it's only in my mind that I have one now) I'd have trouble parting with a Correa. In fact my SS failures from the start of this pool (f*** you Jean Segura) were the driving force behind my Willie Adames trade.
  3. I've always hated the narrative that soccer is boring because there is no scoring as much as I hate people calling a pitching duel boring. Watching live is also so much better in my mind as you see all the runs that are happening away from the ball and actually see the strategy. Then again I love fringe sports like Ultimate and have watched ParaSport Athletics for 16 hours straight.
  4. continuing on NJH's trend but with some truth to it. Dexter Fowler said in an interview that he went to church with Matheny and his family and it was a factor in his decision (along with $90M). Holliday said that Girardi's similar religious beliefs to his was 100% a factor in his decision. So what does Gibbons bring to the table on this front? Gibby showing stains on his shirt that look like objects?
  5. Misspelled nobody and no 420 reference on Bickford 7/10
  6. Stayed at the Crowne Plaza in West Lansing. There was a hotel next door called the Country Inn & Suites that looked nice and was about $40 cheaper. The East Lansing (University area) has a bunch of hotels and are closer to the stadium but the driving time is about the same. Birch Run is about an hour away. If you are considering staying longer than just a game there is a cottage which my friends rent for the for the Michigan State opener every year. About $200 a night 2 bedroom (plus a pull out couch) on a lake. I could find the info for anyone that wants it. It's about 15 minutes from the university. They opened the apartments in the OF of the stadium last summer. I'll bet they are available on Airbnb eventually as well. http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/c808d308d380f5c410a5454cb30679359fb0cae5/c=264-0-4547-3212&r=x404&c=534x401/local/-/media/2016/04/29/DetroitFreePress/B9321969271Z.1_20160429173104_000_GV1E79AU5.1-0.jpg
  7. I didn't get to a Lansing game last year, will try to get there this year. Three day weekend with Great Lakes Loons (Saginaw area), Birch Run shopping and a couple Lansing games is a good weekend.
  8. So you can add life coach to your profile with BBBB
  9. Cubs have a CF platoon of Jon Jay and Albert Almora, and have a boatload of money, but weren't in on Fowler. That was the odd part for me.
  10. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/baseball/orioles-to-pass-on-bautista-because-fans-dont-like-him-duquette/article33264888/?cmpid=rss1&click=sf_globe
  11. Unusual for COTs as when they don't know they put "estimated at". I always wondered how the money in these deals was transferred. I know I get the Raptor 905's pay stubs and there is a player who gets his paycheque from his previous team, who he hasn't played for in a long time. In baseball is it a lump sum payment as that is worth so much more than spreading it out directly to the player. Does it go from team to team on a bi-weekly?
  12. All the initial reports said this. But every payroll site has SD paying $12.050 M this year.
  13. Jays paid nothing last year. $5M this year.
  14. Got to admit that Dexter appears to be a True Card type. Another player who aligns with Matheny's religious views too. As we see free agents sign I think of a quote from the man I worship. - Andrew Friedman.
  15. Please allow me to introduce myself, real-life celebrity TheHurl
  16. I have to admit I go through the lists of pitchers that I think should get selected and almost never get one right (do a little better on the hitters) but Milwaukee piling up on injured players and former spects just seems like a terrible method and not worth losing younger guys. It's not like they have a couple guys that might find it late. But they have Nolin, Josmii, Susac, Andy Wilkins, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, and Rymer Liriano. Even not trading CCC last year seems short sighted.
  17. It seems like the ones with a legitimate shot these days have the date clauses where they can move on if you don't bring them in by May 1.
  18. Late signee (signed at 17) then an Elbow Fracture at the end of 2014 would be the reason for his slow development but why they didn't protect him I have no clue. They finished the year with 4 players on the 60 man DL so maybe they have a roster crunch...although it's the Brewers they must have garbage to cut.
  19. Educating the less informed in the end. That's why z3r0s is your biggest fan.
  20. Padres are killing the rule 5 these days. Of course they are going to be keeping a Appalachian League SS on the big league roster all year if they don't come up with some kind of agreement with the Cards. Grabbed a guy that was probably on route to becoming a back end of the pen guy in Diaz as well. O's got the two best OF's available IMO.
  21. Right now they project 3 games better than the Jays and in a wildcard spot.
  22. You are correct. And truly impossible for us to calculate on our own.
  23. Back loaded to get under the Luxury Tax number I hope. They were so close to that number, and I like to think that they actually care about money in Yankeeland.
  24. As much as it's hard to believe Shapiro loves "culture" and he is trying hard to create something in Toronto that fits his beliefs. They obviously believe that Gibbons fits in with the culture they are building. You can say one thing about Gibbons he doesn't say negative things very often.
